Wonderful, authentic Mexican food

My daughter insisted we switch our reservations for 12 people from one well-known Mexican restaurant in South Minneapolis to this one. Although I was hesitant, as we were celebrating two big birthdays, we switched. The actual space has very low key decor. With very few decorations, it looked... read more

Sat us in dining, because bar was full, asked for hottest sauce with chip and waitress tells me "this one is hot enough" I told he this is my 3rd time I know there is a hotter sauce, ordered the combo with 2 enchiladas and a hard shell taco, she tells me "You can only get it soft shell" which... Visited Pancho Villa at 7p last Friday and was very disappointed with the overall experience: -Despite the restaurant being mostly empty upon our arrival, we were seated RIGHT next to another table that was already occupied for some reason -We were not told that the only Margarita's that were 2 for 1 were the house Margarita's, so we expected our... This was our second visit. Food was great the first time. This time, I had a burrito + 1 item combo. The burrito was large, and the 2nd item was a very small (5 bites) enchilada, which was very good. I cut open my burrito to get to the meat inside, and saw in my first bite was appeared to... More

My wife and I have been looking for a good, locally owned Mexican resturant to call our favorite and I think we have found it. Our old favorite closed about 3 years ago and we have been trying all sorts of places around the metro with no luck till now. The place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. The... More

We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant and were recommended to this one. The food was very good. Many authentic items on the menu. The guacamole was VERY fresh and delicious.

Fun atmosphere - not 'top Mexican', but definitely a go-to place for cheap eats and drinks. The birthday celebrations looked awesome - sombrero, flaming shot, birthday cake.

AMAZING authentic Mexican food. Sometimes we're the only non-Hispanic family there! This is my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant. The Spanish-language TV soap operas are a hoot, too.

For $7 you can get a large platter of tasty food. I enjoy the carnitas. The food comes fast, but the waitresses are less than enthusiastic. I don't mind, though, since it's super affordable and delicious. The chips and salsa you get while waiting for your food is really good, very spicy. Atmosphere isn't the best, but again- worth it...
