I enjoyed my gluten free pizza - very unique. I couldn't really find a wine I enjoyed - we tried almost every red and wasn't impressed. I'd go back and try again though! Hidden in a neighborhood...

I don't know if everything at the Birchwood Café is organic but think the food might be locally owned. You know you are heading into a "earth" friendly restaurant as soon as you pull up and note the large coral of green bikes available. We were there for breakfast on a holiday so the place was busy and people lined... More

I came here once last summer for breakfast and had a great outdoor dining experience. This time was for dinner with a very large group (10). I was concerned we'd have a long wait, but were seated very promptly at a nice long table in the newly renovated dining area. The staff was very attentive to our large group and... More

We ate here twice on a recent business trip to Minnesota. The first time with a local friend who took us for dinner. Our waiter was delightfully charming & attentive. We shared the pickle plate appetizer and ate every pickled bit! We all had the Tour de France Turkey Burger and all enjoyed it. (mine on GF bread, baked in-house;... More

I've eaten there a couple of times since the expansion. It has the same great food. We are never disappointed. It's a very lively space and yes it's noisy at times, like a bistro. It's a very bicycle friendly place. Today we saw a number of people including families gathering in the back room to watch the Tour de France on... More

Birchwood Cafe is a charming little stop in the middle of a Minneapolis neighborhood. We went for a Sunday brunch and were surprised to find a short line and no wait for a table. There is a limited menu, but everything on there was mouth watering. We all shared the savory waffle, the veggie scramble and the quiche lorraine all... More

Great fresh food and there's not a better black bean quinoa burger around that I know of. Best lemonade ever. Prices are in line for fresh and local. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your food to the table, coffee house style. The newly renovated space was disappointing. The line for ordering food is in the... More

The newly renovated Birchwood Café is fabulous! Great space and right on the Nice Ride (bike Share) line, so ride a bike! Tasty omelet with fresh fiddleheads and ramps (ramps are like an onion).

I used to go here with my grandmother to by eggs and milk when I was a child, at the birchwood dairy. Nice to see the place has been brought back. I thought the food was very good and reasonably priced. Everyone in our group liked their food. They have things like sweet pea pancakes, pancakes with sweet peas in... More

Hey I'll admit the food can be tasty, well it should for the price that is charged. There's nothing like some punk full of tattoos giving you loads of attitude -- no charge for that. The owner also got a huge kick-starter funding after being in business for more than ten years. Really ?? Doesn't that seem pretty odd. Pay... More
