So, I was told when going here to definitely check out the bathrooms- I did, they are so unique! Quirky and classy are the best way to describe the ambiance of this restaurant. The service is fabulous, attentive and friendly. The food is tasty! Not going to lie though... the decor and vibe of the place is what will draw... More

Of all the restaurants, bars, fast food etc in Dinkytown near the University of Minnesota, the Loring is by far the best and most interesting. Great ambiance and whacky decor. with a versatile menu that include moderately priced pasta for the student crowd as well as upscale nightly specials. So it is also good close to the U. to bring... We arrived at LPB around 5:00 as our dinner spot before a 7:00 show at Varisty Theater. Interestingly enough, I called LPB the day before to inquire about reservations. I was told that show nights were insanely busy and reservations were not available. As it turns out, LPB was not busy at all - I would guess they were about... More

We went to the Loring Pasta Bar again because of the music. We follow the Cafe Accordion Orchestra and they play there on Tuesday nights. It was just before New Years Eve so it was an early celebration. Our meals were very good. The Pork I had was tasty and moist. My wife had a seafood special. It can get... More

We recently were in Minneapolis as guests and arrangements were made for us to stay at the Days Hotel. There were restaurants nearby but we asked if there were any of special interest with really good food. The Loring Pasta Bar was recommended and we were not disappointed. We shared the Saalade Sauvage. I had Couscous and Butternut Squash and... More

The Loring Pasta Bar is a Dinkytown classic. The building itself dates from years gone by and has an old downtown feel to it..The upstairs gives a great view of the entire place. Usually there is some type of jazzy band playing with a dance floor as well. The food both times I have been there however, has been mediocre at... More

At it's glance it seemed like a really nice restraunt but then our server came to the table wearing what looked like a bathing suit and a cut up shirt. Not the most professional of choices for an outfit. Then we were placed up on a terrace that seemed romantic, but we were completely forgotten about. I never got my... More

Went out to dinner here with my teen-aged son yesterday. The salmon on the specials list was excellent...I was very happy to have it suggested to me despite almost being committed to another entree. The entire experience was great - from the atmosphere to our personable server. Thank you!

The Loring Pasta Bar is well worth the trip from the suburbs to downtown Dinkytown as it is called. For me the draw on Tuesday night is the fantastic Cafe Accordion Orchestra, it is a fun way to spend an evening with friends. The band plays from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday nights only. The Café Accordion plays mix of... More
