Great before a show

If you're going to a game or a show, this is the perfect spot for a quick bite and drink. We usually just have the appetizers, but they've always been pretty good.

The atmosphere is pretty standard pub and that works for me. But the food was delicious. Portions and ingredients surprisingly generous. My husband had the habernero walleye. The fish was huge and tasty. I ate the Greek salad. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the number of quality olives on the salad, usually something that is scarce.... More

'Traditional' bar. Very good service and a good array of drink choices. We called in for a couple of drinks after the ball game and it's obviously a very popular spot. Good atmosphere and we'll be back.

Fantastic chili and salsa! Whatever you do, stop in and get the chili along with some chips and salsa. However, if you want to get something with a major spice kick, don't pick this place. The "spiciest" stuff they had was along the lines of a medium salsa from Pace.

Got to the Loon on a nice, slow Monday night. Sat outside, was greeted relatively quickly, and had our drink order taken. 20 minutes later, after having not seen our waitress, I went in to the empty restaurant to find her so that I could place my food order. The food would be categorized as mediocre at best. My 8... More

It was really busy before a concert at the Target Center, but the staff was quick and helpful. Great sandwiches and fun drinks. Nice atmosphere. Will visit again.

Only one choice for breakfast and it was great!...along with a Bloody Mary. they open at 10:30am on game days; otherwise I think it might be later as they serve mostly lunch and supper crowds.

Went to the Loon Cafe before a Timberwolves game in downtown Minneapolis. The place was busy but we waited only 30 seconds before getting a table. The waitress was efficient and we had our food in a decent time. The food was good. Ask for the chips, they are homemade kettle chips. Don't stick with the fries, your basic frozen... More

Stopped for appetizers and drinks and due to very slow service on getting drinks we skipped the appetizers and went elsewhere. It is a nice location and it appears it is quite large but they had the upper section roped off although the bar area was pretty crowded. Would advise opening the whole area up on a Friday evening and... More

What first...the terrible service from the waitress OR the food!!! The waitress recommended the brisket (which is smoked in-house)...worst brisket ever, very rubbery. You could get a better one from a fast-food joint. Now the waitress, she barely was around, never checked back with us on our food and you'd think she would have asked when we both only took...
