Cross the street - you can do better.

Truly average. The prices aren't great, the food is only ok. Why wouldn't you cross the street to the best bar/pan-asian food in town?

If you are in the area of Eat Street (17 blocks on Nicollet Ave filled with great restaurants) you should give Ping's a try if you are on the downtown side of Nicollet. The atmosphere is basic but the food choices are plentiful and delicious. We sampled the egg rolls, crab puffs and pot stickers. All were yummy. My favorite... More

We picked it out the first time because we wanted Chinese food and it was just a few minutes walk from our hotel. We went back a couple of days later, because we knew we'd be getting something decent at a reasonable price and with good service. The portions were pretty enormous (but then they were everywhere we went) and... More

Pings, Pong, Gone! A poor choice. They are serving a 2009 Clos Du Bois Chardonnay. It's the color of straw and the flavor of vinegar. When I inquired of the date on the bottle after nearly spitting out what I sipped of the glass the server said it was a 2009 and should be good because it is older. It... More

We get food catered from here a few times a year and always consistent over the 20 years I have gotten food from Pings. Like the fried rice and most every other dish. They can be a bit heavy with the dark sauces, but if you are ordering single meals, they should be able to accomodate you.

Been there several times never dissapointed. Location can be tricky if not familiar with the area, but worth the trouble.

I was in Minneapolis for a trade show. It was incredibly cold while I was there, most days well below zero. I am not a big fan of eating alone in restaurants and did not feel like venturing out downtown. I ordered take out from Pings. The food was very good, portions were generous and the delivery was quick and... More

Well we used to love Pings, would go with our grown kids for birthdays etc. Last night was a change. It was dead for a friday night, 3 tables and a man at the bar. The place which used to be trendy is now old and sad. The drinks were strong and good, but we waited 8 minutes to get... More

Easy walk from convention center. Lunch buffet was just okay. Price was right and food was cooked in small batches so it was fresh. Soda came in a can with a cup of ice.

I had not been to Ping's (or to MPLS) in nearly 10 years but was delighted to find that Pings is still fantastic. The food is the best chinese food I have had at any U.S. restaurant, and this includes San Francisco, where I go frequently. The service was very friendly and each and every dish was delicious and fully... More
