Closed :( I shall never get to enjoy those outstanding plantanitos and the most amazing salsa of all time. It is a sad day, indeed.

This dim and cozy restaurant feels so authentic, you won't ever want to leave. Hidden in the middle of a Mpls neighborhood, El Meson never fails to provide each diner with an incredible meal, and an incredible time. My favorite is the garlic shrimp and yucca salad!

Their food is not bad at all. However, it lacks of authenticity. Their Sangria was ok, just ok. Service needs to step up. I guess it was not very pleasant when they drop a full carafe of Sangria on my wife. No replacement, and yes let's blame the kids for the incident.

Visited El Meson last night and overall had a very good experience. My husband and I had the Sangria which was quite nice. The entire family of four then tried the calamari and it was perfectly cooked and was accompanied by a nice sauce which had a little kick. Two in our family had the scallops with risotto and both... Great food and delicious Sangria! I have never had a bad meal here. Conchas are wonderful! The bread they start you out with is so good it is hard not to fill up on it!

This place is amazing! My husband and I frequent this well kept secret even with the plethora of choices in the Twin Cities. Try the Pollo Jamequenio, Asado, Pecador.

My husband and I tried El Meson for dinner. We tried it on the recommendation of a Spanish speaking friend. We arrived, waited about 5 minutes and then were seated at a table. There were no menus and no cutlery on the table. We waited and waited while the wait staff buzzed around us. No one offered us even a... More
