As expected - good sushi but not exceptional

Fuji-ya always has pretty good food, and it's quite consistent. Not the greatest sushi in town but a good choice. Downsides are difficult parking on busy evenings, and poor acoustics that make it very difficult to hear if there is a noisy group on the restaurant. This visit, the server wasn't... read more

good quality and presentation. a little pricey but you get what you pay for i suppose. 3 separate dining areas don't flow well together. will go again.

For the mid-west I can't say the fish was bad! Neat little restaurant and nice patio on a warm summer night. Service was a bit slow and the food took quite awhile. Overall we enjoyed our experience, this place is on the expensive side FYI.

As a long time customer that has followed them from their original location, Fuji Ya is a class act. The fish is fresh and the sushi chefs are creative. The only downside is that there has been a lot of staff turnover which seems common at sushi restaurants. I usually order Omakase (chef's choice). You can set your own price... More

The food was excellent no matter what was ordered. It was fresh, tasty, tangy, and well served by attentive and careful servers. It is a place to go back to especially since the food is so very good and the atmosphere in the restaurant congenial. A must!

My first time eating sushi here even though I've lived in Mpls for 20 years. Food was great and happy hour prices make it affordable. Happy hour is in the bar only but goes until 7pm.

Very tasty sushi. Sushi is always expensive in Minneapolis but the quality of the fish makes Fuji Ya worth it. We also had flights of Sake, what a great way to taste 4 different kinds of Saki. Wonderful Happy Hour in Bar only. Get there early as the Bar fills up fast.

Recently, went to Fuji Ya at the start of happy hour. Sushi was fantastic, I also got chicken which wasn't all that good. Friendly waiter. Atmosphere was nice and silent for a good conversation with my girlfriend. Once again it was at the beginning of happy hour. We left around 545 on a tueday and, the tables were filling up... More

My husband and I use to go to Fuji-ya when it overlooked the River in Minneapolis, and always enjoyed the uniqueness of the atmosphere/ambiance. When our son, turning 22, said he wanted something "different" for his birthday dinner, I thought of Fuji-ya. Although now on Lake off Hennepin, we hoped it would still pack the same "flare" that we remembered.... More

The nearest ocean is over 1000 miles away and they serve you sea-food that they claim is fresh. Fuji Ya used to be a decent place. However, over hte years it's become a bit run-down. The owners are real Japanese and the chefs too so you do get some authentic sushi feel. since sushi places are a bit of rarity... More
