We needed a restaurant downtown to meet some family for lunch and this seemed like a great place. The outdoor type atmosphere is so refreshing when it's cold outside. What we didn't expect was that the food would be so good. They had a good wine and drink list and a lovely lunch menu that consisted of smaller portions of... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. We were so lucky to dine early and receive the Mary Tyler Moore table which overlooks the beautiful crystal court. Our entrees were outstanding. I had the beef short ribs and they melted in my mouth. Our waitress, Theresa, was attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend Basils.

We went to Basil's which is located on the Third floor of the Marquette Hotel. We were met enthusiastically by the front of house hostess and were seated on the balcony overlooking the IDS court. (It did get warm as floor heaters were very close to your legs.) The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. The Basil's salad was... More

I ordered the "Artesian Omelet" and the flavors were a real wake up call. Only complaint I could think of is it was the size of half a loaf of bread. Too much food.

I had an excellent lunch at Basil's. It was affordable and 5 star in my book. The only downfall is that it is kind of laid back, I needed to get back to work, but the Waitress would did not give me my bill right away.

My wife and I went to Basil's for dinner one night. We were early in the evening so it was not crowded and our server was good at his job. We receive a complimentary taste appetizer from the restaurant which was thinly sliced apples with a little goat cheese and a drizzle of honey from their roof top. It was... More

We went to Basil's with a Groupon and enjoyed our dinner very much and our server was awesome. Their house cabernet was excellent and from our soup and salads to our entree, everything was delicious. They gave us a little appetizer (not included in our meal) that was dried apples, pears, goat cheese and honey from their rooftop and it... More
