Description: Victor's 1959 Cafe is a little piece of Havana in South Minneapolis offering traditional Cuban fare such as Picadillo, Ropa Vieja, Cuban Sandwiches, Yuca frita, Sweet Plantains, Tostones, and other recipes from Cuban cuisine. Independently and locally owned, you'll find friendly service and a festive environment with lots of writing on the walls! Visited in 2008 by Food Network's Guy Fieri, Diner's Drive-ins and Dives, who cooked up "off the hook" Cuban food with owner Niki Stavrou. Check our website to watch the episode! We're a tiny restaurant with only 10 tables inside and 10 more tables on our tropical summer patio. Enjoy our Wines, Beers, Tropical Mimosas and Champagne Mojitos! Also popular for our unique breakfast menu, served every day! No reservations for breakfast or lunch, just come on in... 5 mins from Downtown/Uptown 15 minutes from Mpls/St Paul Int'l airport.

I am always hesitant to try Cuban food in the Midwest because I have eaten at a few places that have an unusual idea of what it actually is. Victor's is the real deal! I am from south Florida and I was so excited to get a real cortadito!. Everything we ordered was delicious and we had the best server... More

Victor's 1959 Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in the Minneapolis area. It's small, unique, and charming. it's often quite busy, and for very good reason! They accept dinner reservations. Their Cuban food is some of the best I've ever had, and I'm from Miami. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a strong beer and wine license.... More

Hole in the wall location, difficult parking, but it is well worth the effort! A little bit of Cuba moved north. I haven't had Cuban food this good since a trip to Miami.

I'm a local Mpls native and Victors is my favorite spot for breakfast. There is usually a line. I would wait for a booth. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I love Victors for many different reasons. It's little and friendly, its a great neighborhood spot, and the food is crazy good. Outstanding cuban food, from the best cuban sandwich around, to Ropa Vieja, to the beans and rice. All great. The restaurant has good character, and there is a patio in the summer. Not the best for beer and... More

I've never had anything but great food here. Definitely get reservations for dinner if you can, otherwise for breakfast and lunch, you better get there super early or late. On the weekend, by 9 am, there's already a line. It's super small but worth the wait. The portions are very generous. The Cuban hash is hearty full of flavor especially... More

Came here with my family on my birthday and we all loved it the moment we walked in. The menu had excellent choices and so did the drinks menu. They serve beer in those bigger bottles and it was just right with the appetizers we ordered. The kids had a good choice of sodas and juices to order from. The... More

Love this place. Food is great. I had Dia Y Noche and a tropical mimosa with mango juice. Excellent! Cuban music was playing in the background. Servers are super nice and not overbearing. Megan was great. I came here first time on a blind date with my now boyfriend and has been returning ever since. Be prepared to wait anywhere... More

A very quaint and authentic restaurant in a neighborhood of Minneapolis. The staff are excellent and friendly, and the restaurant itself is suitable for families. I would say the friendly staff contribute to the warmth of this cosy establishment. The food is authentic and delicious, however I found it very filling and heavy. Perhaps we ordered too much food, we... More
