Description: Victor's 1959 Cafe is a little piece of Havana in South Minneapolis offering traditional Cuban fare such as Picadillo, Ropa Vieja, Cuban Sandwiches, Yuca frita, Sweet Plantains, Tostones, and other tasty recipes from Cuban cuisine. Independently and locally owned, you'll find friendly service and a festive environment with lots of writing on the walls! (Ask for a sharpie so you can add your comments to our walls filled with grafitti). Visited in 2008 by Food Network's Guy Fieri, Diner's Drive-ins and Dives, who cooked up "off the hook" Cuban food with owner Niki Stavrou. Check our website to watch the episode! We're a tiny restaurant with only 11 tables inside and 10 more tables on our tropical summer patio. Also popular for our mango pancakes and unique breakfast menu, served every day, reservations for breakfast are taken for parties of 6 or more. Enjoy our Wines, Beers and Tropical Mimosas! 5 mins from Downtown/Uptown 15 minutes from Mpls/St Paul Int'l airport

I have mixed feelings about this place. I really wanted to like it and I did like the service, the coffed and the ambiance. My food was just so-so. My girlfriend and I like to try new restaurants for breakfast/brunch. Her boss highly recommended this place. When we got there, there were quite a few people waiting outside. We put... More

Great little place- converted gas station, lots of graffiti on the walls, very casual and small. Get there early esp. for breakfast on weekends. More

Small, but very good (cuban) food. Small outdoor area also. Great atmosphere and just a fun place to go. More

We have been here several times and never disappointed. The empanadas are fantastic. Our favorite entrees are the pork and chicken, but have loved all the others we have tried as well. Plus, it is a fun atmosphere with a friendly staff. More

Although small, which is part of it's charm, Victor's serves up wonderful food. The salmon is divine, the cuban sandwich, best I've ever found! Definately worth looking into! More

They save money on heat in the wintertime by running their kitchen exhaust through the seating area. If the cook is using any pepper, it makes everyone sneeze. Sit close to the door, in case there's a fire. More
