The best Cuban!

The best Cuban sandwich I have had. Try the Basque Scrambler if you make it for breakfast, the creole stew is amazing!

This is not the classiest nor the most organized restaurant I have been to. Nor is it very big. We had to wait for lunch for almost a half hour on one of the coldest days we have had this winter. That being said, once we got a table things settled in to one of the best meals I have... More

Café con leche, sweet plantains, Spanish omelette with chorizo and Cuban toast with guava jam!! Amazing breakfast and great informative service!! It's like traveling to Cuba, except for the other English speaking people around. I love what Victors is and hope they don't ever change!

Our family of 4 ate here on a Saturday around noon. We arrived about 11:40 AM and waited 40 minutes for a table. This neighborhood restaurant is pretty small and there was a constant stream of people in and out. Plan plenty of time to get seated. Once seated, our server and hostess were both very attentive and friendly. Could... More

Phenomenal menu. Cannot be beat. Great value for breakfast and lunch; dinner is outstanding, albeit pricey. Fun atmosphere. I've encountered surely waitresses several times there. I understand they have high demand and not many tables. But still! Nevertheless, I go back.

We primarily had breakfast food here, but it was all done Cuban style, and everything tasted wonderful. The food was excellent, and I definitely want to go back. It definitely has character to the place - graffiti all over the walls, and looks like a little hole in the wall, which added to it's charm, but the food was very... More

My husband and I were living in South Minneapolis from 2013-2014 and we were so excited to discover Victor's 1959 Cafe. Their cuban coffee Is delicious. Their mango pancakes are fluffy and perfectly sweetened with real mangos. Our favorite by far was the breakfast bistec criollo. The steak was seasoned well and the peppers were great with it. And the... More

We had one of the best meals in a restaurant here. The outside of the place looks like you should get a vaccination to enter but you really must. Inside the walls and ceilings are covered by graffiti from innumerable diners who wanted to leave their mark in a real gem. Unbeknownst to us, it has been featured on the... More

As soon as you spot Victor's 1959 Cafe you can tell you are heading towards an experience. The exterior belies that the place is unique. The interior is even crazier. There is writing on almost every inch of the place. It is certainly not a high falootin place it has lots and lots of personality. The food and service are... More

Liked it so much, I went twice. A "hole in the wall" with tremendous "ambiance". A really neat place. Authentic Cuban food. I have to echo everyone else. The wait staff is fun, informative and lively. Sat at the counter one time (has 4 seats) and you get to "watch the show" and sat outside on their patio the second... More
