Entering its third decade, the Dakota has long been a favorite of jazz legends as well as patrons who savor the best of both art forms, the virtuosity of kitchen and bandstand. You can eat in the dining room and enjoy music second-hand from the adjacent club room; but you can also enjoy the music in the intimate club while making selections from either the bar or dining room menu—the best of both worlds. Patrons must note that online reservations through OpenTable apply to the dining room only. For show information and club reservations please call.

Great club, food just OK

My wife & I went to the Dakota to see Keri Noble recently at the Dakota. As a club, it is tremendous. Great sight lines and good acoustics. The service and the food were lacking a bit. It took forever for someone to come & take our order and when they did, it took even longer for the food to... read more

Two of my favorite things - jazz & brunch! Excellent menu choices (mostly Creole-style dishes), the service was great, and the food was yummy!

My wife and I visited for the first time and were very impressed. The environment is small, cozy and quaint. Food was very good, had a burger that was simply great! Service was solid. Live music playing, so there is a fee to get in, that was really good. First time hearing a bluegrass/folk band and j would definitely check... More

What's better than dinner downtown? Dinner and live music. We had wanted to try out this place for some time and since we had guests from out of town, that was the perfect excuse. The music started at 8 so we made our reservation for 7:15 and were seated in a great spot in the balcony directly in front and... More

Our daughter bought us tickets to the Dakota as a surprise when we visited from Australia. We had the pleasure of listening to Rebirth Brass Band from New Orleans. They were fabulous and had the audience up and dancing. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. We had a wonderful night out and would love to go again.

While the jazz is incredibly entertaining, the food is less than par. 1st off, as a customer with a gluten free allergy, I found the menu very frustrating. Nothing is noted about allergens on the menu, and one must ask the staff to clarify the appropriate menu items. This can take awhile with the number of items on the menu!... More

We saw Tom Paxton and Janis Ian here for a memorable, incredibly moving concert. The acoustics are fine. We only had a glass of wine and a desert. The Pineapple cake was very attractive, even if there was not much cake.

The service was decent, but the food was a bit disappointing. We pretty much just ate the fries, and the rest was crap. Which was pretty terrible because my friend and I were starving after coming from La Belle Vie, where the food was basically a tiny dot on a giant white plate. The music was not impressive or unique... More

Made reservations to see Davina and the Vagabonds (wow, what an incredible band!) and have a little dinner. The service was fine, and the food was very good and pretty well-priced. I was a little disappointed at the miniscule size of the sea bass portion, but it was terrific, as was my wife's salmon. The food selection was broad, with... More

We come here often for the entertainment. The Dakota offers a stellar range and you can often meet the musicians afterwards. The views from 3/4 of the seats is superb. I rate the music part a 5 star. The food is somewhat hit and miss. Every new chef wants to put their mark on the food and the current one... More
