Entering its third decade, the Dakota has long been a favorite of jazz legends as well as patrons who savor the best of both art forms, the virtuosity of kitchen and bandstand. You can eat in the dining room and enjoy music second-hand from the adjacent club room; but you can also enjoy the music in the intimate club while making selections from either the bar or dining room menu—the best of both worlds. Patrons must note that online reservations through OpenTable apply to the dining room only. For show information and club reservations please call.

Had a wonderful time!

Attended the Jeffrey Osborne concert in September and I was very impressed with the venue. An intimate setting with good food and a great staff. Attended the Jeffrey Osborne concert in September and I was very impressed with the venue. An intimate setting with good food and a great staff. One negative...there were crowds gathered on the second level, in the corner overlooking the concert area. These groups were extremely loud and distracting from the amazing performance. Not sure why they were allowed to remain... More

We had never eaten at the Dakota before, which is well known as a great intimate music venue, but thought we'd give it a try. We'd heard the food was mediocre, but couldn't resist the convenience of eating leisurely while we enjoyed the show. Our table was fantastic! (See picture) We felt like we were literally right on top of... More

This is a groovy and comfortable place to hear great music. Like the music, the food never disappoints. The seared scallops with lobster risotto, however, were so delicious they demanded a review all their own. Exquisite. Merci.

I go to the Dakota ALL the time -- like at least a couple times a month. You can't beat it for the music, and we're lucky to have it in our city. The food is good -- but pricey. The menu changes often, and while I've enjoyed some dishes, there are other restaurants close by that offer great food... More

Great atmosphere for a show and a nice dinner. Very intimate setting that has great service as well. Check out the calendar and plan a night here at the Dakota. You will NOT be disappointed. Enjoy!

The place was packed for the concert. I understand that the staff was busy but the waiter was downright surly. I don't know if my boyfriend asking about drink specials and also asking for a cabernet (which was not on the menu) set him off or if he was treating all his tables so poorly. Although the waiter said they... More

Nice decor, u shaped booths for 2-3 max or tables for a group, balcony as well. Excellent service. My date had a salad of some sort and I had the Pork Belly. Must admit the PB was mostly fat and small serving on a huge bed of black beans...tasted good yet very disappointing to have so little meat. Left hungry...no... More

Saw a show here the other night and had heavy appetizers and drinks as well. The venue is absolutely lovely with a small club atmosphere with the added benefit of good food - not great but good. We had a couple of appetizer trays for 4 poeple plus a bottle of wine and a cocktail. The drink was creative and... More

This is one of the best, unique jazz clubs in the US. Owned by the same management for 30+ years, it features both name and lesser-known artists. And the kitchen and bar are top-notch.

The Dakota Jazz Club is a heck of a lot more than a jazz club. The Dakota is one of the premier MUSIC clubs in the country. Their lineup is amazingly eclectic and the Dakota is a treasure for the city of Minneapolis. Located on the iconic Nicollet Mall, the Dakota has an unique array of music almost every night... More
