Description: Entering its third decade, the Dakota has long been a favorite of jazz legends as well as patrons who savor the best of both art forms, the virtuosity of kitchen and bandstand. You can eat in the dining room and enjoy music second-hand from the adjacent club room; but you can also enjoy the music in the intimate club while making selections from either the bar or dining room menu—the best of both worlds. Patrons must note that online reservations through OpenTable apply to the dining room only. For show information and club reservations please call.

My husband and I went to dinner at Dakota, during our weekend stay in Minneapolis! They had a great live band doing Aretha Franklin, that started around 9PM. We had reservations, and did not have to pay the cover, as we arrived earlier for dinner, but after a certain time, it was $15/person. (I'm not sure if this varies from... More

Dakota's usually features a Jazz performer during dinner and we were there on a night when there was no cover. They had a limited menu but everything we had was really good. The performer was also very good, In summary we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Strolled the mall and stopped in on our way back to our hotel for dinner. Enjoyed the music outside. Lovely menu that offered items nice for my Teen & Tween children to choose from.

Dakota is a first rate live jazz club and restaurant with name performers and an inventive seasonal menu. My wife and I dined here prior to the Minnesota Orchestra Gershwin and Bernstein concert at nearby Orchestra Hall. The dinner menu is quite nice, and the service was attentive. I had the grilled rainbow trout, along with a piping hot soup... More

While on a business trip, I decided to go into the Dakota on a whim. I got an evening of very good food and great entertainment. But don't eat and run. The best part of the evening was a group called Divina and the Vagabonds. They play Dixieland jazz like no one you've heard. The lead has a voice very... More

Following the Twins game, my friend and I headed over to the Dakota for an early dinner. It had a great "jazzy" decor and I like how the menu was presented (in a "record"). The plate portions were just enough so that one could get through an appetizer, entree and dessert if they chose to. My friend and I started... More

We enjoyed a great evening of jazz and blues at the Dakota. We made reservations for dinner and show by telephone the day we attended. However, we were out-of-towners and were given a terrible table. Once we were seated, we requested a better table, and they gave us one in the balcony! The food and drinks were good, but the... More

I had a terrific meal while listening to three hours of great rockabilly music played by Pat Donahue & the Prairie All-stars. They play every Monday at the Dakota. The chef has some very creative dishes including the Spring pea panna cotta and the Lemon Icebox Pie (not your grandmother's pie).
