This causal restaurant was a delight. The menu was innovative and tasty. Who would guess the venison comes from New Zealand? The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall this was a fine meal and good value. No wonder folks kept coming in.

This is a restaurant that we first visited years ago when it was fairly easy to get a reservation. The food was always good. Frankly, we stopped going due to two factors. The whole world figured out how outstanding their cuisine was. And we started getting far better dining options closer to our St. Paul suburban home. We recently decided... More

Liked pretty much everything I had and appreciated the fact that a full prix fixe of this quality was available for about $50. Wine list was also surprisingly reasonable. Service was slightly slow -- the place gets busy -- but friendly.

Arrived early to sit at the bar and watch the show in the kitchen. A nice man at the bar (handsome bar back perhaps?) gave us all the inside intel. We were seated upstairs where our waitress was gracious, lovely and informed. Food was quite nice. A wonderful b-day outing.

Dining at Restaurant Alma was one of my finest dining experiences that I have had, ever. From the great service to the most deliciious meal, all the way through dessert, it was just a stellar culinary experience. The meal was wonderfully creative, fresh and exquisitely delicious. My entree was the duck served two ways and it just melted in my... More

Four of us went to dinner and loved our meal, but no one found anything a "must return for dish". Our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with food explanation and recommendations. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. However, there just seemed to be one thing missing to make it exceptional: perhaps the dishes were over prepared or the... More

Love, love love RA with their three course tasting menu. The menu is always changing based on what is currently in season. Each category of choices on the tasting menu offers ample selection. My main entree was the duck, two ways and was divine. My second course was the grilled bread- also outstanding with fresh burrata. The wine list by... More

To celebrate an anniversary we thought a great place to try again after a long absence was Restaurant Alma. We were hoping to have the six course tasting menu, the night we went they had three course menu. We asked the waitress if the was any chance that we do the six course menu. The chef said yes. The first... More

I think it is fair to say there are no warming lamps in this restaurant. All three courses were freshly prepared, and as good as I have had at a restaurant. Pickled ginger? Right up there with candied tomato at Tilia. Could not have imagined either one, myself. Duck two ways -too delicious. Lemon ice cream - deconstructed I believe.... More

I have eaten here several times, and they always exceed my expectations. The menu is always very creative, and the service is above average.
