I had never heard of Alma but my daughter had, and she took me there for my birthday 3 or 4 years ago and it has been our destination for my birthday, hers and special occasions ever since. Restaurant is relatively small and you must make reservations. The menu is the most unique I have ever seen and it changes... More

My culinary team and guests just flew into Minneapolis from England. Restaurant Alma's Chef offered my team to use the kitchen for prepping their ingredients for our competition which was very kind however we had to take a later flight so we could not take advantage of this offer. I still decided that we would go for dinner in order... More

Alma is a physically small restaurant and reservations are important. The 3 course tasting meal is difficult only because as you review te menu you can't figure out how to pick only 3 things. Fresh ingredients, ample portions and superb service make it one of my favorite Minneapolis spots. I have been there several times and I haven't been disappointed... More

This rating receives an extra star for exceptional service. However, the only menu given was a 3 course tasting menu with five choices for each of the 3 courses. If a la carte is available, do that instead. My first course was a sweet corn chowder that was very heavy on the cream. Never, ever in my life have I... More

We chose Restaurant Alma for our anniversary last week, and we both loved it. We did their three course tasting menu ($52) with wine pairing ($20), which I highly recommend. My favorite was the duck entree course, amazing. The service was great too. We will definitely be back!

I think this restaurant was very good, but not so good that it was one of the best meals I've had. I was a little disappointed - maybe expecting too much or ordered the wrong thing? Small place, excellent service. The amuse bouche was the best thing I tasted that night. Shrimp, orange, watermelon, arugula, spicy mayo - creative, refreshing,... More

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Restaurant Alma. As native Minnesotans, we tend to sometimes overlook the best things closest to us. You fall into a rut and go to the same place time and time again and forget about what this town has to offer. Restaurant Alma has been around since 1999, and we have visited Brasa, it's... More

Restaurant Alma promotes their $52 three course tasting menu to their guests, though the dishes are available a la carte for an undisclosed price. I highly recommend the Lightly Pickled Shrimp for the first course. The Garlic Scape Naan was also very good as the second course. However, neither my wife or I, or anyone else at the tables around... More

Price fixe menu and there doesn't seem to be any bad item on the menu. Our choices included Coppa Salami & Summer Beans (yum), Roasted Peppers & Cauliflower (yum), Garlic Scape Naan (hearty yummy dish), grilled bread (to die for), and halibut en papillote (good but we were full by then so could hardly eat this). We had a table... More

I had heard about this place from a co-worker who knew the chef. I took a friend there as a token of gratitude for taking care of me following surgery. All I can say it the meal was superb, as was the dessert. The prices were a bit over my budget but it was a special occasion and was well... More
