Attentive and thoughful service

I went to dinner with my 10-year old. I ordered the roasted sweet potatoes & pears for her starter and she didn't like at all because it was cold. This was our Valentines dinner and I can't express how disappointed I am to have spent $300 here. The food was inventive, good, maybe a little over seasoned or sauced on most items even. The seating was not comfortable or private in most spots, you are seated very close to other couples and the seating in on wood chairs or... More

Restaurant Alma is a high end dinner place, serving local and organic food. Reservations are highly recommended. I went with a friend on a Monday night and we only got a table because there was a cancellation. It is very low lighting and decorated tastefully with a blend of old and modern. Immediately entering the front door is a draped... More

Ever try a place that everyone raves about and you get there and you're just like "Huh. I don't get it." That was this place. So many incredible reviews and sooooo many people recommended Restraunt Alma, but it just wasn't that great. Let me preface by saying what might be obvious: this is not a place to take the kids.... My boyfriend and I came to Minneapolis for a weekend to visit some friends. Alma was suggested to us, and it did not disappoint. We really enjoyed sitting at the bar, where we could see the hustle and bustle. The food was unique and thoughtful. I enjoyed every course. You do have to be a bit of a "foodie", as... More

The food could be much better with a little bit more extravaganza from the Chef using more spices. Could be more creative. The service was very good. The wine list is good but expensive for the quality of the wine. The whole experience was very pleasant but not mind Blowing. We will need bigger portion to justify the price. I... More

Had a chance to have the vegetarian tasting menu here. Food: food was very good. The portions were not very large but the three course meal does fill you up. The food is inventive and tasty but it is nothing mind blowing. Ambiance: very good, very nice place to have a meal or celebrate an event. Service: very good and... More

I have been using TripAdvisor for many years - before it was in the mainstream; and it has always come through. Tonight I ate at the restaurant Alma and it was fabulous! I didn't have a reservation so I sat at the bar. The food was incredible - I had the Bison Tartar, the Rabbit, and the Monk fish. In... More

Four of us had dinner at Restaurant Alma last night. Each of our meals was excellent. Alma's food is not just very good, it is unusual (in a good way) with very interesting combinations and subtle seasonings. We loved the wine selection; our server did a great job of describing the various options, along with the menu items. The decor... More

Our first visit to Restaurant Alma was great and we will certainly be coming back for another visit in the future. The atmosphere is upscale laid-back and very comfortable. Our waiter was excellent and very knowledgable with all of the dishes. His recommendations were greatly appreciated. I started with the bison tartar and this actually ended up being my favorite...
