My boyfriend and I came to Minneapolis for a weekend to visit some friends. Alma was suggested to us, and it did not disappoint. We really enjoyed sitting at the bar, where we could see the hustle and bustle. The food was unique and thoughtful. I enjoyed every course. You do have to be a bit of a "foodie", as... More

The food could be much better with a little bit more extravaganza from the Chef using more spices. Could be more creative. The service was very good. The wine list is good but expensive for the quality of the wine. The whole experience was very pleasant but not mind Blowing. We will need bigger portion to justify the price. I... More

Had a chance to have the vegetarian tasting menu here. Food: food was very good. The portions were not very large but the three course meal does fill you up. The food is inventive and tasty but it is nothing mind blowing. Ambiance: very good, very nice place to have a meal or celebrate an event. Service: very good and... More

I have been using TripAdvisor for many years - before it was in the mainstream; and it has always come through. Tonight I ate at the restaurant Alma and it was fabulous! I didn't have a reservation so I sat at the bar. The food was incredible - I had the Bison Tartar, the Rabbit, and the Monk fish. In... More

Four of us had dinner at Restaurant Alma last night. Each of our meals was excellent. Alma's food is not just very good, it is unusual (in a good way) with very interesting combinations and subtle seasonings. We loved the wine selection; our server did a great job of describing the various options, along with the menu items. The decor... More

Our first visit to Restaurant Alma was great and we will certainly be coming back for another visit in the future. The atmosphere is upscale laid-back and very comfortable. Our waiter was excellent and very knowledgable with all of the dishes. His recommendations were greatly appreciated. I started with the bison tartar and this actually ended up being my favorite... Restaurant Alma remains remarkable even after years on the scene. Wine list is terrific with a nice variety of price points. Really hard to choose from each of the options from appetizer through dessert. The Bison tartare was outstanding, as were the fennel/apple/celery salad, the flan and the roasted squash/yam. The middle course favorites include the rabbit agnolotti and, yes,... More

I have been several times at Alma over a quite extended period of time, and had the occasion of dining there again recently. It was globally acceptable, but nevertheless disappointing. The smoked rabbit I had as a starter was excellent, and so was half of my entrée (the duck filet). But the second half (the duck confit) was overseasoned, the... More

This causal restaurant was a delight. The menu was innovative and tasty. Who would guess the venison comes from New Zealand? The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall this was a fine meal and good value. No wonder folks kept coming in.
