We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Restaurant Alma. As native Minnesotans, we tend to sometimes overlook the best things closest to us. You fall into a rut and go to the same place time and time again and forget about what this town has to offer. Restaurant Alma has been around since 1999, and we have visited Brasa, it's... More

Restaurant Alma promotes their $52 three course tasting menu to their guests, though the dishes are available a la carte for an undisclosed price. I highly recommend the Lightly Pickled Shrimp for the first course. The Garlic Scape Naan was also very good as the second course. However, neither my wife or I, or anyone else at the tables around... More

Price fixe menu and there doesn't seem to be any bad item on the menu. Our choices included Coppa Salami & Summer Beans (yum), Roasted Peppers & Cauliflower (yum), Garlic Scape Naan (hearty yummy dish), grilled bread (to die for), and halibut en papillote (good but we were full by then so could hardly eat this). We had a table... More

I had heard about this place from a co-worker who knew the chef. I took a friend there as a token of gratitude for taking care of me following surgery. All I can say it the meal was superb, as was the dessert. The prices were a bit over my budget but it was a special occasion and was well... More

I won't write an essay about the food because others have summed it up perfectly--it is absolutely excellent. Parking across the street is NOT an inconvenience; it probably is a shorter walk than some restaurant lots. However, my biggest gripe was the customer service. I called days ahead to make a reservation. It was understood by the person who took... More

We have been to Restaurant Alma many times and have never been disappointed in the food, wine and beer. Restaurant Alma does not have a full bar. Each ingredient in each course is unique and as a result stands out. We enjoy that the dishes are farm to table. Restaurant Alma does not disappoint.

Amazing restaurant with sort of an indie vibe. It's not so fancy that it's pretentious. Instead it's somewhat cozy, hip and urban. The food is out of this world. It is artistically presented and creatively crafted with a perfect blending of colors and flavors. The three course tasting menu is your best option for trying ample portions of delectable delights.... More

I dropped in for dinner recently on a whim and ended up seated at the bar next to Head Chef/Owner Alex Roberts. In addition to having one of the best meals in a long time, it was great to hear the personal story behind Alex's building of his restaurant business in Minneapolis. Alex is is clearly committed to his staff,... More

I live in Minneapolis and have been meaning to write a review for awhile. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and I try to visit at least once every couple months due to the frequent menu changes to match seasonal availability. It is also the first place we will take most out of town visitors, given... More

Absolutely no complaints here, only praise. The three course (starter, middle and entree) prix fixe menu is fantastic and wide-ranging. I really suggest trying the wine pairings--very carefully selected. Both your choices from the menu and the wine pairings are individualized--that's not always the case in fine dining establishments. This was clearly the best meal we enjoyed in Minneapolis. I... More
