We picked up on this place off Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. we got there a little after 4 on a Thursday. exactly what I expected and the prime rib sandwich was awesome. tender and tasty.I asked the server what her favorite desert was and I am glad I went with her favorite. a blueberry crumb cant remember the name... I have been twice. Only had the pierogies which are top-notch compared to the sorry excuse of a "Polish" diner across the street. Drinks are fun, old-school, stronger on the polka band side. Usually easy to grab a booth or table, quick bartending. It is like a time-warp when you go in and that's just how I like it. The... More

Wow what can I say. A real trip back in time to a fantastic bar and restaurant. Great ambience with pianist playing in the background and singers joining in whilst eating a huge cut of prime beef dinner. Only had five nights in Minneapolis but had to go back here a second time.

We had heard good things about this place but were not able to go when they had one of the bands they are known for. And because they have kind of limited hours/days we only made it for a drink. The bartender was friendly and helpful and there was a decedent cover band. Bartender made a good drink recommendation for... More

Well we got caught up in the hype of Nyes on our first ever visit to Minneapolis, and aren't really disappointed we went, because now we can say we did. But I probably wouldn't go again. The atmosphere is a throw back to the old cocktail bar restaurants, and their are a couple music venues, depending on which side of... More

Been taking my wife there for our anniversary dinner for over 20 years. Piano bar, polka bar, great food, great cocktails, great service! We'll be going back again this year.

I have been here for large celebrations and intimate meals. The look is 1960 and the carpeting is not much newer. The person seating us had been at this job way too long. I guess she fits in with the look of the place. The polka bar is small and fun to walk through, after that moment, there is nothing... More

Restaurants generally fall into two categories...new and hip, or established and classic. At Nye's Polonaise Room you are unlikely to find any more classic dining establishment in Minneapolis or America, for that fact. Nye's is a cultural experience. Where else can the tinkling of the ivories at the piano bar with its Broadway-wannabe singers compete with a polka band in... More

Nye's Polonaise gives you a some great polish food and the atmosphere is awesome. My family and I shared the Nye's plate and saved some money. It had pierogis, cabbage rolls, spare ribs, polish sausage, sauerkraut and potato dumpling. It was worth it because we all walked way stuffed. The piano man was playing and in the bar they had... The food was good--I really liked the prune perogies and the sauerkraut--and the atmosphere was cool; everything original from the 60s. The place is huge. If I lived closer I would rent a party room here for every and any occasion I could think of.
