What's not to love about a place that doesn't try to be anything it's not? An old school, red-vinyl boothed restaurant, polka music, cheap drinks and lard-ridden Polish delicacies. Come for dinner, sing a song at the piano karaoke, then go grab a cheap drink and dance with the polka band.

A true throwback. Nye's was a highlight of our friends weekend in MSP. I can not tell you how good the food was as I am not an expert on Polish food, however, I will say that the atmosphere is outstanding and the crowd that gathers at Nye's is not to be missed. Nye's is located in a happening part... More

This is the land that time forgot. The booths with sparkling red Naugahyde, the carpeting and dark windowless room all make this feel like you are stepping back in time. The service was great and the food good but not fabulous. Their menu could be updated but do not touch the place. There is a music venue next to the... More

The polka bar was a fun night on the town. The music was lively and the selection of drinks was good. However, the food in the restaurant was lacking. There are hardly any vegetarian options, and most everything is deep fried. The perogies were nothing like homemade perogies; I was disappointed. I recommend visiting for the music, after you have... Again tried because of it being on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. We went on a Saturday night and surprisingly didn't have to wait for a table. Got one of the red leather half circle booths which added to the ambience. We had our 10 yr old daughter with us and they don't have a children's menu and since she is... More

We picked up on this place off Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. we got there a little after 4 on a Thursday. exactly what I expected and the prime rib sandwich was awesome. tender and tasty.I asked the server what her favorite desert was and I am glad I went with her favorite. a blueberry crumb cant remember the name... I have been twice. Only had the pierogies which are top-notch compared to the sorry excuse of a "Polish" diner across the street. Drinks are fun, old-school, stronger on the polka band side. Usually easy to grab a booth or table, quick bartending. It is like a time-warp when you go in and that's just how I like it. The... More

Wow what can I say. A real trip back in time to a fantastic bar and restaurant. Great ambience with pianist playing in the background and singers joining in whilst eating a huge cut of prime beef dinner. Only had five nights in Minneapolis but had to go back here a second time.

We had heard good things about this place but were not able to go when they had one of the bands they are known for. And because they have kind of limited hours/days we only made it for a drink. The bartender was friendly and helpful and there was a decedent cover band. Bartender made a good drink recommendation for... More

Well we got caught up in the hype of Nyes on our first ever visit to Minneapolis, and aren't really disappointed we went, because now we can say we did. But I probably wouldn't go again. The atmosphere is a throw back to the old cocktail bar restaurants, and their are a couple music venues, depending on which side of... More
