So Cute

Not from in town, but wanted to go to a cozy breakfast place...Love how different this place is ! So small, but everyone is so friendly and the food is too good to even complain. It's perfect ! My guy waiter was so sweet and made sure my coffee was always full ! Definitely a cool spot if you're a... read more

Everything is amazing here; the people, the food, the atmosphere; everything. Yeah, it might be hard to get a seat, and yeah it's a bit cramped, but the food is so worth the wait. The bacon, the hash-browns, the eggs benedict, and especially the pancakes. Wally-blues are the best.

Al's Breakfast is the smallest restaurant I have ever been in. The wait is long and uncomfortable as you are basically crammed in behind counter only seating watching other people eat. I waited and waited as Al's is highly regarded. Finally, we were seated which consisted of moving other diners so that the 3 of us could sit together. The... More

Great breakfast, lots of menu choices, excellent service, got a seat right away because the students are all on break. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a diner kind of breakfast.

I have never been to Al's before, but have heard for years what a great spot it is for breakfast. Finally, I decided to go with a few co-workers. We got there at 7:30 just as several people were done eating so there was room to sit. I ordered the Jose - hashbrowns with an egg and cheese on top,... More

I've been to Minneapolis many times, but somehow never heard about Al's until I went out for breakfast with a local friend. I understand (and you can see from the other reviews) that people wait long times for a seat at the small counter. (There are no tables.) My friend and I must have been leading charmed lives that day;... More

If you haven't been to Al's, it is a must see in Dinkytown. My oldest son attend the U of M and lives a couple blocks away. We met for an early morning meal at 6:30...by 7:00 all of the stools were taken up. Get there early. You are going to Al's for the atmosphere as much as the food.... More

We waited about 50 minutes for seats here, but we were having fun the whole time. Everyone there seemed so happy, from the staff to our fellow diners. There is atmosphere to spare and we soaked it up. Initially we thought we'd be glad we did it but we might not wait in line again- but once we tasted the... More

I will not go into the review of the place as everyone has gone into 14 seats, etc.... the food was excellent! Great atmosphere and waited only 25 mins or so. Fun watching people here, must visit again.

This tiny restaurant provides just bar seating for a dozen guests or so and you can expect a queue when you arrive at this popular breakfast spot. However the wait is absolutely worth it! The atmosphere is great and the food will set you up for a great start of the day!
