This is a cute place. We ate outdoors on a hot evening but it was a nice setting. The dinner menu is very limited. There is one beef item - skewered beef with think cut bacon for $29. The pork item is a combination plate consisting of a pork sausage, a pork patty and a pork medallion for $26. My... More

While traveling we love to go to local places that offer farm fresh ingredients. While that phrase is often overused, it really means farm fresh here. Most of their ingredients are sourced from a farm they own. The CSA hash was delicious as the vegetables were cooked perfectly, and he best bacon I have had in a long time! Thick... More

I wanted a salad and this was a great place to get one. Really fresh, really tasty, and I liked discovering one more new veggie each time I turned the bowl. Although I was in the mood for vegetables, the bacon slab and pickled egg were more than welcome. Dressing was fine, not memorable. Not sure why the obviously not... More

Selected by my old college roommate for a Sunday brunch. They do not take brunch reservations, but at 11:00 a.m. we waited less than 15 minutes. An eclectic menu offers traditional dishes with a twist and tout their farm to table emphasis. Our choices included the hash offering, the egg sandwich, herb scramble(2), fruit cup and carmel pinwheels. Coffee and... More

I can not find a farm to table in Chicago (where I live) as fantastic as Wise Acre. We were told we had an hour wait when we showed up for brunch, and that was PERFECT. It gave us time to browse the gardens across the street, and see what Wise Acre was all about...before being seated and hearing what... More

First of all our dining experience was very nice from hostess seating to the bill. As others mentioned, the grub is local, sustainable, and organic. While I'm not into organic so much, I believe in and support local and sustainable. While the staff was informative about the menu and food origin, I never got the impression that it was a... More

This is not my first review of Wise Acre. Because I love the Tangletown Gardens across the street and the owner, I want to give Wise Acre the benefit of the doubt. (Owned by the same people). The food has never been the problem. Tonight, I would say exceptional. The problem in the past has been wait staff. Not this... More

I scanned the reviews to see if I came on a bad day or if I just didn't "get" the place, but several reviews mention 1) that the place is pretentious, 2) that the food is overpriced, and 3) that the "hostess" is, simply, rude. We had traveled to south Minneapolis to visit our favorite Tangletown Gardens, and thought we'd... More

The breakfasts are great, I recommend the CSA hash. The indoor space can get a bit on the cramped side when it's a full house. During good weather there is outdoor seating, I recommend that if possible.

Saw this on a few "best-of" lists, so decided to make the drive south out of downtown for dinner. I think I was expecting it to be on a farm after the farm-to-table billing, and was surprised to find what looked like a converted garage (it was) on a busy street. But it's comfortable and casual inside, and there was... More
