Not A Place for Conversation

We came here for a law school graduation dinner. Most of our dishes were good; however, my steak was very hard to cut up and chew. The waitress had it taken off our bill. It was impossible to visit with anyone without shouting because of the overall noise level.

This two-part restaurant is awesome for some low-key but delicious bar food and great beer. The "beer garden" is outside but also weather proof. Our service wasn't awesome, but the food and drinks were and the servers corrected any mistakes that were made!

Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis on vibrant Hennepin Avenue, this restaurant is still one of the hardest places to get into without a reservation, and continues to serve up solid food and drink. If American whiskeys are your pleasure, there is an extensive menu Bourbons, rise, and whiskeys. The food continues to deliver. The flat iron steak was... More

This place does wonderful things with meat....sort of a hipster's "supper club". The charcuterie plate was an adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed (especially the turkey braunsweiger with Vidalia Onion Jam). The regular meat options we saw (the pork chop) were too big to eat at one sitting. The sausage options were more reasonably sized and priced. I had the blood... More

I had heard good things about this restaurant, so tried for a solo seating at 6pm. All the tables were full and there was only 1 seat available at the bar, so I took it. I ordered a starter of the Wood Grilled Oysters - delicious smoky silkiness offset by the saltiness of the parmesan butter. I then followed with... More

I'm from Europe. My grandparents made home made klobasa, salami, bacon and etc. eating at this restaurant brings me back to the time when I was a kid. Anything in this restaurant is delicious you will not be disappointed!

Ate here while on a business trip. The experience was top notch. From the food to the service to the drinks to the dessert, everything was phenomenal. There were several people in our party who ordered different cuts of steak. And each one of them were phenomenal. It's relatively small place. They do take reservations. But in our experience, they... More

We finally made it here and were well pleased. My husband had the blackened T bone and thought it well worth the price. It was huge but he managed to finish it. My entree, the pate was okay but the side of King mushrooms spectacular. Then we managed to share the baked Alaska., amazing. Service was good, people watching fun.... More

My colleagues in Minneapolis encouraged me to come out with them to the Butcher & Boar for their signature "The long bone" dish which was cooked for 24 hours and so tender and cooked to perfection. We also try the sausages and few other starters. The atmosphere was lively and they did have a great selection of beers. Overall I... More

This restaurant rocked, my server was Donald and he really elevated the experience to a different level. His knowledge of the menu items and expressions while describing them were amazing. We hadrosaurs oysters & blood sausage for appetizer and two different specials for entrees, the red hot Brussel sprouts as a side. And last but not least the baked Alaskan... More
