Gastronomical delight Gorkha Palace

Inviting ambiance, friendly staff, authentic and amazing food (I still can't get over how much I ate) are more than enough reasons to eat at Gorkha Palace. I was additionally impressed by their concern for environment (all their food is organic and I saw they had replaced paper towels); the owner... read more

I know that Gorkha Palace is one of the best South Asian places in the Twin Cities and yet I am always pleasantly surprised on top of this. Recently they discontinued their lunch buffet except on Fridays and made their entire menu organic. Indian buffets tend so often to suffer from steam table exhaustion. Every dish is prepared to order... More

Well, the problem was with what I ordered, not the food here. You just have to be careful. When they say it's spicy - they mean something far and above anything I've ever experienced. I had the Spicy Newari Chicken. The menu read

I'm not usually the biggest fan of Indian food because I'm not the best with spicy food, but Gorkha is great! Very good service, food was out in a timely fashion, and it was yummy. We got the combo dumplings, and a few specials.

We eat here almost weekly and have never been disappointed. We are about 50/50 eat in/take out and again always good. The restaurant tries to use local ingredients and organic when able. The Friday lunch buffet is a treat, but don't plan on going back to work because you will need a nap after such a great lunch. The staff... More

The reviews about this place don't lie. The food was great! Free parking was nice. The ambience was good. Quite clean. Will stop again.

No, we didn't really have the Laasi drink, which would have been great on a hot summer day, but it was very cold today. We had Palak (spinach) chicken, mixed vegi curry (these two entrees came with boiled rice), plain naan (the best my dad has had so far), chicken biryani, and Spicy Newari Chicken Choyla, which came with lentil... Planned visit with a few other couples. We ordered the chicken chili for an appetizer, the mono platter, and the navetten korma (excuse spelling). Sooo much tasty food! They give you loads of rice and the service was great. Ps the chai tea is tasty!

Just had lunch there. What a disappointment. First. They went away from the buffet! So you have to order from limited menu options, wait for a very slow service ( even though we were first there at 11 AM) Second: Prices are sky high not. A simple dish of curry chicken it $14 (not including the drink) Third: Food is... More

Went for my son's birthday as we were in from out of town and this is his favorite restaurant. Group of 5 tried a variety of items and shared them. I am not a curry fanatic but found theirs enjoyable and variable in flavor. I had Chicken Sekuma which is made in traditional clay oven served similar to fajitas but... More
