Nothing average about this place! A little hard to find, but everything from the drink specials to the wine list to the menu was unique. Try the pork meatball appetizer. Everyone's entree was great. I had the poached eggs - how's that for outside the box!

Compared to other Tripadvisor reviews of this restaurant, I'm in the minority. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. When making the reservation, i mentioned that we were visiting for our anniversary. Throughout the meal, they threw in small freebees to help us celebrate - a drink, a small appetizer, etc. VERY nice of them. I had... More

I went here with coworkers for a reward dinner. We started with wonderful champagne and a few of the toast options. I liked the butternut squash mousse with apples. Then I had the duck confit and the others had the walleye. Excellent and perfectly cooked! The server added a carrot side and also brought a wonderful dark chocolate sorbet palate... More

FIRST TIP- A good stop for wine lovers and wine novices. More about that in a moment. First, let me say that there are a lot of great things going on at TBF. The atmosphere is fantastic. Its homey, but eclectic and funky in a way that keeps it down to earth. The service was absolutely wonderful. The server was... More

This blog is really making an impact, you guys. Chris joined us for Meeting #4 because he saw the posts for the first three meetings and wanted in. Wondering how you can get in on this? Easy. Just be close friends with Drew, Matt and me (and now Chris), and wait for a month when one of us can’t make... More

Great entrees which seemed seasonally appropriate. Excellent tasting boards. Our waitress offered us another glass of wine since our entrees were delayed. She also very considerately brought a non-alcoholic drink to one in our party.

It is a landmark for me in Minneapolis. I travel here on business and always get away one evening to have my Bachelor Farmer fix. Great food, inventive cocktails, interesting ingredients - all put together very well. Walleye like I never had before. Buckwheat, sorrel, fennel, radishes, I could go on and on. Lovely building and a great roof garden.... More

The Bachelor Farmer has received so much press and hype, my husband and I had to check it out. The pros: our waitress was terrific; they offer a limited number of wines by the glass, but you can order half bottles as well (yeah!); our appetizer and entrees were nicely presented and the dishes were quite good; the atmosphere was... We went there on a Saturday evening and had a great time. The toasts are great so we always have to have those. Service is friendly and well done. Food is great. Just wish it wasn't so hard getting a reservation.

I have been wanting to go here for a long time. I should have known better when we parked the car and had to use the honor system parking lot...standing outside stuffing individual bills into a piece of metal with a poker. Can't imagine doing that in the winter. The host was very nice and said he would contact us... More
