Launched by scions one of Minnesota's most famous family, TBF established the North Loop as a foodie destination. Creative, elegant, simple food pays tribute to Scandinavian heritage while using nothing but freshest, seasonal, most organic local food. Wait staff is knowledgable, friendly, unobtrusive. Chef deserves the kudos awarded, including Beard award.

Four of us did the set menu three course dinner. $34. Familly style salad was good. Main course was a rare pork italian style sausage and very dry, small pork ribs (two per person) on a small amount of white beans, Desert was a three ounce chocolate milk shake. Drinks were ok, specialty drinks a bit pricey. Nice service, nice... More

First visit to this restaurant didn't really know what to expect. Great location off the beaten path in Downtown Mpls. with parking available right behind the restaurant. Very friendly staff at the door, in the bar, and in the restaurant. The food was all delightful and was very appealing in its presentation as well. Portions were just right and were... More

The service at this establishment is top-notch. The food here sucked!! I would never go back!!! Sunchokes???? (roots of a sunflower)....Please!! I realize it's organic...and I also realize, it's not for me!! The wine was great. So if you're in it for the drink and service, it's your place....but if you want to feel like you got a great meal,... More

Service was especially wonderful. My daughter and I love to split a range of small plates so we can try many things on the menu. The steak tartare was not out standing but the Meat toasts, Beets, duck all were excellent and beautifully put balanced with lovely pickles mustards etc. The plates came out split for us, which was so... The Bachelor Farmer is a gem, a restaurant that is unique by its charming rustic building and always smiling staff. The lemon pancakes were to die for... And the pastry cart is such a lovely addition! Keep up the good work.

BF is at the top of many lists for best of MSP. Understandable based on uber gourmet approach, attentive service, and fawning reviews. Enjoyed a meal with friends there - but don't need to go back. Difficult to find something I wanted to really eat for the taste rather than the experience. Drinks and wine were all on the edge... More

The Bachelor Farmer not only offers great food, but the staff is simply superb! The menu is concise and highlights the best that the region has to offer, even in the dead of late winter. From a fabulous duck pate and a masterful steak tartare to perfectly done scallops (they ran out of walleye, sigh) everything was just a delight.... More

Capped off a great girl's weekend with a Sunday night family style dinner at The Bachelor Farmer. The set menu was wonderful, with the exception of dessert. But honestly, my stomach was stuffed with the previous two wonderfully prepared and presented courses, that I don't feel I missed out on too much (except stomach upset from eating too much.) Can't... Just had dinner here last night on Valentine's Day! Started out with the little radishes dish (complimentary while choosing our meals) which were great & something nice to munch on. Next, we chose the oysters as our appetizer (a special item specific to Valentines Day). For dinner, Josh & I each had a glass of white wine (took the recommendation... More
