Been trying to get here for years and it took a best friend to finally bring me. Not crowded at 6 pm on a Friday night, but lots going on in town on a fine summer day. Very well informed server named Miata made us feel very welcomed and gave us a great wine recommendation. Chose the lamb chop and... More

In Minneapolis for two nights on business. After a little research I made reservations at The Bachelor Farmer and Borough. The Bachelor Farmer really exceeded my expectations. (Borough, not so much - see separate review). The space at "Farmer" is great - worn, old wooded floors, open timbers across the ceiling. A great staff was very helpful in explaining the... More

I'm a pretty picky eater in that I prefer simple meat & potatoes meals. I'm willing to try almost anything, but if I were cooking for myself I'd leave out onions, mushrooms, peppers, olives, seafood and most veggies. I attended Sunday brunch and split some relatively adventurous (for me anyway) dishes with my table mates. All of them contained ingredients... More

We had drinks at the bar downstairs before our table was ready. Stephen was not only handsome but nailed our drinks perfectly. We were three indecisive women who each had different tastes. We then went upstairs to enjoy an incredible dinner. Our waitress was patient and made great suggestions for wine and dinner entrees. Everything was fabulous and the atmosphere... More

This was my second time at Bachelor Farmer and I left not nearly as excited about the place this time around. Service was great, I still love the decor but food fell a little flat for the price.

OK, first, the waiter was terrific. He was prompt and offered good advice. And the food was OK. But this is a restaurant that it takes an act of God to get a reservation for. And national magazines write about it. And Obama drops by when in town. Maybe it is the fact that we are not native Minnesotans and... More

I heard a lot of great things about The Bachelor Farmer. My sister and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was awesome; our waitress was fabulous; very friendly and attentive; and the food was decent. My overall experience at The Bachelor Farmer was positive.

This was our first time to TBF. A friend's sister works here so we thought we would give it a try. What a wonderful treat all around from the apps to dessert everything was flavorful and just the right amount. My duck breast was perfectly seasoned and cooked with just the right crisp on the skin. The pop over brought... More

My husband and I landed at the Bachelor Farmer our first night in MPLS. It was a great way to get introduced to the city and the neighborhood. We really enjoyed the atmosphere-- if I had to describe it I'd go with farmhouse chic-- as well as the variety of food options. Though we were a little confused by the... More

As some have pointed out, the place is loud. But to us, not outrageously so. It has a casual bistro feel but the food is all inventive or at least deviates from boring traditional brunch fare and is quite good. We had the bourbon French toast and the lamb breakfast sandwich as well as a bottle of sparkling wine. Service... More
