Went to Bar La Grassa this past weekend, great meal, great service. This was the fourth time I've been there since its opened, and the food and service levels have remained consistently high. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town and I love bringing new people that have never been there. The food is excellent, prices very reasonable,... More

Wait staff was fantastic. Food was great we had picked one thing off each section and loved each choice. The prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Great food - great service... A little bit hidden with only a small BLG sign in the front, but once inside the ambiance was tremendous. From the antipasto to the tenderloin to the 4 scoops of ice cream - all top notch!!!

Over the last few years I've had the chance to eat at many of the "top" places to eat in the cities. I am from the east coast and have been blessed to eat at some fabulous restaurants all across the world. In light of that I think this place is incredible! Every dish the flavors pop out and are... I cannot sing the praises of Issac Becker loud enough! If you haven't been to Bar la Grassa yet you must be either visiting from out of town or new to the area. All I can say is you must go! My perfect meal (bring lots of friends, the menu is for sharing... And try not to fill up on... More

The Italian food here is really good and slightly unusual. Especially for the Midwest. You can order half plates if you care to, and I did just that. Three of them plus an app of scallops which were delish. Only two on the plate, though :( The server took his time explaining each dish impeccably. I had one pasta dish... More

Rabbit, lobster, lamb…in yo pasta! This is no olive garden. Go in with an empty stomach and leave with your pants unbuttoned. This restaurant is a North Loop favorite. Put your reservation in and prepare to have a thoughtfully made, delicious feast.

Very Good rating is for the food - it was stellar. The service was fair. Went for the first time this weekend on a date night with my girlfriend. We live in the neighborhood and frequent most of the restaurants (favs include: J.D. Hoyt's, The Bachelor Farmer, Moose and Sadie's), but hadn't found time to try BLG. The food exceeds... More

We had dinner here a few weeks ago and loved every minute of it. WE had reservations however waited a little bit to be seated. Not a problem, we sat at the bar and had a martini and a bruschetta. Phenomenal! The staff was friendly, fast and courteous. Our meal was amazing, however, too much food for me. We love... More

Chef rated best in mid west by Beard Foundation. Good selection of Italian specialities. Regular pastas and fresh with small and regular portions. I started with pork cheek and white beans which I enjoyed, but then I finished with a Burkeshire pork tenderloin in pepper sauce which was tender and spicy. A well rounded menu for vegetarians and hard core... More
