This is our favorite go-to! I always get the same thing even though I tell myself we'll try something new. The bruschetta is amazing and the entree's are affordable and hand crafted. Be sure to make a reservation or sit at the bar!

I'm not really a fan of "Italian" restaurants for the most part, but bar la grassa is a noted exception. We really enjoyed the small plates and being able to enjoy tastes of a few different things. The chef started the table with a fava bean amuse bouche, tasty and interesting. We ordered a couple small starter dishes - the... More

I've heard about this restaurant for a while and I was excited when my friends and I decided to try it for a celebration dinner. One thing to note when arriving is that the signage outside is a little tough. You are on Washington Ave which has a fair amount of traffic so it's hard to look for it and... More

For an idea of how I rate: 1=Horrible with no return planned ever 2=Not the worst, but wouldn't plan a return trip 3=Average, take it or leave it, wouldn't care if we went back or not 4=Memorable and worth a return trip, but missing something that puts it over the top 5=Memorable and excited about a return trip to try... I've been to Bar La Grassa four times now, and I confess that I just don't get the hype surrounding this place. Sure, the atmosphere is nice, and the staff are usually quite good, but the food is just average -- more often than not, it's pretty bland. The problem with the Twin Cities is that they don't really have... More

The tables by the kitchen where you can watch the preparation love it. The small plates are special with a wonderful opportunity to experiece a range of flavors. ink pasta with uni butter sauce and clams, Delightful. Service was as perfect as the food.

BLG is consistently a great restaurant. Their prices are reasonable and the food and wine are always on point. I don't like that you have to give a lot of lead time for reservations, but it's worth planning ahead.

Why did I wait this long to go back to BLG?!? The grilled prawns were served with heads, always a plus in my book. And the chermoula spice combination with mixed herbs, paprika, saffron was INCREDIBLE, by far the best I have tasted. I believe this marinade is from the Tunisia, Morocco region. The dandelion salad with goat feta and... More

Every single time I'm here, the place is loud, packed with people, and terrific. All the dishes were bang on. The Ravioli, fantastic. Beech mushrooms, bang on. Squid ink pasta. Great. Doesn't seem too matter what, its all done as it should be. I will be going back in a heart beat.

BLG is simply excellent. Menu, presentation, taste, and value are top notch. Ambiance is fun and true to warehouse district. Service is good, unless they are too busy - when you can be ignored for long periods and some arrogant attitude comes through. Avoid the busiest times. Otherwise, a great place for special occasions. Enjoy.
