This is an interesting Italian restaurant that try to be gourmet. The food is really tasty and has some interesting flavors. It's a great idea that you can order little plate of all entree in order to share and multi-taste all the menu.

We booked early to enable us to be at a graduation ceremony by 7 pm. If you like this very popular place go early to be able to hear each other's conversations. We had a circular booth which was superb for our family of five. We had the decadent soft egg and lobster bruschetta which was our favorite. We had... More

We had heard good things about BLG, and decided to give it a try while some friends visited from out of town. Our waitress informed us that we had the possibility to order a variety of small plates and share "family style" as opposed to each getting our own dish. We followed her advice and it was the best decision... More

RESERVATIONS! That's your first step. Make a reservation. I have never seen a restaurant so busy on a Monday which I think goes to show how popular this restaurant is. I went with a few girlfriends and we all LOVED it. We shared a couple bottles of red wine and each had two smaller plates I tried the bruschetta which... More

This was our first visit. It appears to be a happening place. The menu might be a little confusing for a first time diner. It has many selections, and you have the choice of having small or large plates. For more variety, you may want to choose several of the small plates. My disappointments were the small tables, loud noise... More

BLG is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. Every time I go, it is an outstanding experience. From the excellent service to the delicious food, it is not to be missed. The bruschettas are a MUST. Do not miss the soft eggs and lobster, nor the ricotta and roasted tomato. The fresh pastas are delish! The homemade pappardelle with... More

Come here for fresh pasta dishes and interesting variations of seafood and Italian recipes. Bruschetta options are unique and very good. Particular favorite is the avocado, white anchovy and sea salt version. Gnocchi with cauliflower and orange is also another favorite I get every time I go. Restaurant can be quite loud so hearing your dining partner on a date... More

The lobster and egg bruschetta is worth trying just because it is a unique dish. We also liked the gnocchi with orange and cauliflower. However, the other pasta dishes were so salty we could not eat them. Overall, I was perplexed by the fabulous reviews this restaurant has received. The service was excellent, but the food was average.

Bar La Grassa serves only one item - salt, salt, and more salt. Do not eat here if you are on a low sodium diet. I'm surprised the Public Health Agency hasn't posted a warning on the front door. Furthermore, the business plan is meant not to serve the customer, instead it is to line the pockets of the owners... More

There is something for every culinary taste on this menu, and you can get it served up as individual plates or family style. I highly recommend the silk handkerchief basil pesto pasta -- it is uber silky because it is made with wine vs. water. Superior service all around and an atmosphere that makes you appreciate going out to dinner!
