True French Patisserie made on site while you watch

This Patisserie features fine french pastry and breads. The finest milled flours are used and everything is made in small batches by hand. NOTHING is pre-fab frozen dough like so many other bakeries. They're also very knowledgeable and friendly about their goods.I've shopped here a lot and have... read more

This is one of many businesses within the Global Market Place. Four of us sampled a selection of several items including cakes, tarts and cookies. The predominant flavor of each selection was sugar, not the underlying flavor of the item.

OMG. That should sum it up. This little place in Midtown Global Market is a treasure to find and to eat. I asked them if this was the only time in my life to eat here, what should I get. Without hesitation, they all said the brioche and recommended extra napkins. Simply divine! The ham and cheese croissant was tasty,... More

I usually get something at the Salty Tart when I visit Midtown Global Market. They have good bread, unique cupcakes, and decent cakes. What really keeps me coming back, though, are the macaroons. They have a lightly toasted crunch on the outside and a moist, chewy center that is just the right balance of coconut and sweetness. These honestly are... More

They have some really good but overpriced pastries. I love stopping in for a special treat. I would recommend any of the ones with chocolate as I have tried most of them and they were all good!

I started out with a ham and cheese croissant and finished off with the most decadent, rich, comforting piece of bread pudding. I read the chef bio hanging in a display case and learned that this bakery is owned by a woman named Michelle Gayer who has the Chicago-famous Charlie Trotters on her resume. You can get a whole meal... More

I love the deserts here. They are so delicious. I live in the neighborhood, so I am able to visit as often as I please! The prices are a little expensive, but well worth the price! I promise! Yummmmmmmmmmm

I had heard of this bakery from watching Unique Sweets on the Cooking Channel. So when we were in town, I had to try it out. We had tried the Chocolate Salted Carmel Tartlette. It was good, but rich since it was made with dark chocolate. We also tried the coconut macaroons which were chewy and delicious. We also tried... More

When I was a little girl, my babysitter would make coconut macaroons and let us eat them while they were still hot. I have looked high and low for something that comes close to the perfection that only exists in my mind. And I have to say: The coconut macaroons are the best I've encountered. While I did not get... I have a problem. I am a Chocoholic. I cannot stop at one chocolate dessert. Rather, I eat until I am past the optimal point. That being said, as I planned our quick weekend trip, the Salty Tart Patisserie was a MUST do. It did not disappoint! Upon entering the Global Marketplace, you'll find this sweet shop tucked in the... More
