They opened at 10 AM and the line was half way down the strip mall. The selection was well varied and everything I tried was excellent. Even the chicken feet, which was my first time with that delicacy. Tried the squid as well, first time, and it was vary tasty. Can't wait for the next time.

Had my doubts about heading to any South East Asian restaurant in the mid-west! but found this place to be really good. The menu is a little too extensive though, but glad I chose the noodle soup as this was tasty and full of flavour.

They have a la cart and off the menu or combined, every thing we tried was good, I'll go back if the opportunity presents itself!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the US for AUTHENTIC Chinese, not the slop served in most Chinese restaurants. It is not always perfect, but almost always close. I have tried at least 2/3 of the items on the extensive menu and have only had a few that I would not reorder. Most seafood items are worth getting, Hong... More

When in town, we dine at the Mandarin Kitchen at least once a week and are always very happy with the experience. Favorites are: black bean ribs, salt and pepper squid, duck, all seafood, pea tips and chive flower. Their house soups and deserts are always outstanding. Dim Sum is like in Hong Kong. I wish they would open a... More

This is where the Chinese community gets it weekend dim sum, a series of food offered from carts full of small plates. The quality rivals Chinatowns of big cities in the U.S. The seafood is excellent for dinner. The food is authentic Chinese. If you don't like what they so here, then you don't like authentic southern Chinese food. What... More

We have gone to the Mandarin Kitchen for dinner several times over the years. This time we decided to try out the Dim Sum. The Dim Sum was excellent, and we found it to be very reasonably priced. They do draw a crowd, and nobody tells you what to do to get seated. After asking around in the waiting crowd... More

Very unfriendly, grumpy hostess/waitress, didn't tell us there'll be extra charge of what we were ordering, we found out after we paid $13 for a bowl of soup!! Not worth it at all! You can get the exact soup, taste even better, at Peking Garden in St. Paul!! Never wanna come back to this place again!

We've lived in the Twin Cities since 1995 and regularly check out all the dim sum places in town. In fact, we check the back pages of Asian newspapers to find the latest Asian restaurant openings. Mandarin Kitchen is, by far, the best dim sum house in the Twin Cities. The dishes are authentic and freshly made. Dim sum aficionados... More

Came here for dinner with family. We live in New York City and are therefore a bit more critical when it comes to Chinese food. Read all the great reviews and were disappointed. Over 90% of the patrons were Chinese so we expected better. Too much corn starch in the sauces and flavors were not diverse given the fact that... More
