Description: A Minneapolis tradition was born on October 2, 1947, when the Oak Grill opened for business. Architect Bob Hansen used characteristics from the Jacobean period in the design of the rooms. The ornate fireplace, originally from Salisbury, England, was over 300 years old when it was transported in sections and reassembled in the Oak Grill. With its solid oak columns and vast frame, it soon became the room's focal point. Its distinctive appearance, along with dark paneling, red chairs and dim lighting, help give the Oak Grill its cozy ambiance.

We hadn't been in this dining room since it was "Dayton's". The restaurant was not prepared for the large crowd that came to see the flower show. Why not? 45 minute wait for a table. The waitress clearly had more tables than she could handle. Long wait for food. The good news was that the food was excellent.

This is a great place to grab a quick bite for lunch. Lots of options to choose from. There is everything from Chinese to down home southern fried chicken an mashed potatoes.

We discovered the salad bar on the top floor of the Macy's in downtown Minneapolis last summer. $8.95 for all you can eat salad, soup, and bread. All the veggies are fresh, there are a dozen kinds of dressing to choose from. There are four kinds of yummy breads to choose from and six different kinds of soup (on both... More

This upscale but very reasonable deli style at Macy's is a super place for a quick lunch while on a power shopping trip. Fast service and fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses, breads, soups and everything. Nice to be able to eat and run.

Macy's is right next to the Marriott Hotel. The deals that we found were great. I think it was a sale weekend. Good deals

I have been eating here for many years. Their selection of food options has changed in this food court area, but the options are always very good. The salad bar is one I look forward to. Everything is fresh and very good. The atmosphere is beautiful as well, overlooking the city with a piano player. One of my favorites in... More
