Unique... and very good

My family tries to hit at least one unusual restaurant each time we travel to a new city, and so Zanz was our experiment for Mankato. It was great. The facade looks like an old A&W Drive In (or something along those lines), and hasn't had much updating in years, from what we understand. This... read more

Older local fast food place with excellent food--the tacos are superior to Taco John or Taco Bell. Unfortunately, no drive through--you have to go inside to order. Decor from the 60s and 70s.

I doubt there has been any money invested back in the restaurant for 30 years, I literally witnessed tin foil routing a leak in the roof to a five gallon bucket one time. they clean up once a year whether it needs it or not. But I keep going back for the hot chilitos, tacos and disinterested teenager service?,???.

Zanz is legendary, just make sure you order the right thing! Pros -The Chilitos are Legendary -The Tacos are the Best I've had -The Taco Burritos are Heavenly Cons -The enchiladas are so bad -No soft shell tacos for really picky kids -The "meals" are pretty skimpy and the side salad has french dressing -It's pretty expensive compared to other... This place is a local legend. The softest flour tortillas you will ever find are wrapped around a little bit of heaven called a Taco Burrito. The cheese chilitos keep locals coming back year after year. It may look questionable to the first timer. Be aware there are no public restrooms.

I've been eating here since the mid-80's. The restaurant itself is kind of a dive, but the mild cheese chilitos are simply amazing. Highly recommended.

we always called this place Taco Eddies, because their food would come in plain wrappers. we would pick up a whole bag of tacos and share with everyone at school. everyone loved the food but could never find Taco Eddies well it was just Zanz. great quick Mexican food. no the secret is out.

Here is a quiet, under-the-radar taco stand that uses little advertising and doesn't have a bold bright sign in front. Zanz, although changing names a few times over the decades, has been chugging out the same delicious food from a hardly changed menu year after year. Locals know where to go for great taste and Zanz has been a favorite... More

I have eating here since 1989. Yeah, it's a bit greasy and cheesy. Definitely a knockoff and throwback to the old Zapata and Zantigo chains. Not a whole lot of flavor and the hot sauce comes in packets. A throwback treat if you have ever eaten at the now defunct Mexican chains. everything is reasonably priced. Old style booths at... Go for Tostada Thursdays...I could eat two, but should only eat one cuz I'm trying to preserve my figure (not really). Honestly, a nice place for a quick appetizing lunch. And, by the way, the hardshell tacos, of which my son eats six at a time are damn good, too. We've been coming back here for 20+ years. Keep up... More
