Visited on Wednesday lunchtime with a group of friends for the third time. There is a limited choice of two course meals for £7.50 and 'smaller tummy' menus at £6.95 for one course. There are also daily specials on the blackboard at slightly higher prices. My friends chose the fish cakes from the specials board at £8.95 and this provided... More

It was open at lunchtimes! Drove past many times and was unsure (no obvious sign stating open and food available at lunch) I live only a few miles away and was unaware it had changed décor/hands recently. However, a good friendly welcome, wonderful choice of food, tastefully renovated and beautifully presented food. In spite of a previous review (written by... More

We met friends here for lunch. It had a nice friendly atmosphere, the staff were helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We could change the menu to suit our wants and when the food arrived it was really tasty. You could have a choice of large or small portions and there was a good varied selection on the menu.... We detour to eat lunch here a few times a year on the way down to Devon. Friendly welcome with a good traditional pub menu with a few extra specials on the board. Something that always sorts the good from the average pub - they cook steak well!

My daughter & I were en route from Bristol to Sidmouth and stopped at The Honiton Inn for lunch. It was midweek and quiet, but what a good move! The landlady was so welcoming and the landlord happily gave my daughter free tasters of his local brews - I chose a glass of wine from the extensive wine list; all... More

Many thanks for your review - we really appreciate the time and effort it takes to write one! The menu is just about due for a change - hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will have our Spring/Summer offering! Hopefully, there will be meals on there to tempt you back again. More

Went here for lunch with a friend, it had a warm welcome with a lovely fire and was very light and airy. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They have a good selection behind their bar, the menu was varied but could do with a little more selection, they do small meals as well... More

The licensees are friendly and helpful and the interior is clean and comfortable. The problem lies with the menu. It's far too big, which is invariably an indication that much of the food is frozen, not fresh. The meals we had were OK, but average pub grub. The best pub/restaurants have a limited menu so they can concentrate on perfecting... More

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review on 8th March, 2014. It is always great to get customer feedback. As you can appreciate, we are a Village Pub and need to cater for all tastes. I understand your comments regarding the size of the menu, however, we do have to try and please all the people all... More

Monday night is not the best to stay as the pub itself is closed so no food. Best was to drive to honiton. Room was clean but as the pub was not open and no one around, very isolated. Breakfast was already set in the room when we got there so two lonely croissants sat on a plate with cling... More

Sorry your visit here didn't meet your expectations for your stay on SUNDAY night. As soon as you booked, I did inform you by telephone, that we would not be open for food or drinks on Sunday night as we usually shut at 4.00 p.m. on Sundays. The breakfast is as stated on all websites, Croissants, Marmalade, Fresh Milk, Cereal... More

If you are travelling North or South on the M5 or the A 303 (or staying in the area) then make the detour to Awliscombe and have a meal at the Honiton Inn. John Breeze the Landlord and the lady who is the Chef are most obliging (e.g. She turned Tiger Prawns from a starter to a main meal for... More

Husband & I stayed at The Honiton Inn just one night Sept 16 our first night out of London after 4 nights. It was the best introduction to the English Countryside that I could imagine.
