Great place

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! We both really enjoyed our meals and the very warm welcome we were given. A great pub.

Drove here from near bye Trunch and had to park in the road as no space in the small car park. Got a table for two straight away near the bar which was entertaining as you could hear all the locals talking to each other during dinner. I had Cromer Crab Mornay and chips which was delicious and my husband... More

My husband and I ate here on the busy Bank Holiday Saturday night. The service was excellent as was the food. We had a beautiful dish of Cromer crab with asparagus, best starter we have had in ages. My husband then had the Black and Tan pie, and wanted to go back the next night for more! The lamb chops... More

Very good country pub with good food and a fine range of beers. Reasonable prices and very good service. We were very pleased with the starters and main courses but unhappy with the cheesecake we ordered for dessert, the manager was very fair and apologised he did not charge for dessert. Overall very pleased with the food and drink.

Ate here at lunch for the first time this year, standards have not slipped, in fact my Garlic Prawns with bread and side  salad were even better than I remembered. My partner tried the Smoked Mackeral and Horseradish Mousse which was served with Toast and a side salad, again delicious. Puds were equally good, we chose the Rhubarb and Elderflower... More

We loved The Vernon Arms - a good old fashioned country pub offering a warm welcome and excellent locally sourced food beautifully cooked. This is my idea of a proper pub, nothing pretentious or remotely gastro in sight but with a cheerful attentive host, a roaring fire, terriers under the bar stools and friendly locals. Will go back.

My relatives booked us a table luckily and we had a delicious meal: one had steak and ale pie with mushy peas and chips, another lamb chop with vegetables and I had the venison pie with new potatoes and vegetables - cauliflower, broccoli and carrots with new potatoes. Thought I could not finish it but I was determined. We all... More
