We chose to eat in the lounge area as there was a wait for the restaurant. Loved the decor. The food was very good. Great service.

We are in the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area three times each year. Each visit isn't complete until we've eaten in The Cedars Dining Room at the Sawmill Inn. The "Sundowner" early dinner menu is perfect with several top choices off the main menu, but in smaller ... and most appreciated ... portions. Same quality, hot popovers, plus a small dessert.... Service was great, dining area well used could use improvement. Food was good not out standing just good. Wife ordered medium done steak got rare, so it was not a pleasant meal as I ate my meal while was still warm while waiting for wife to get her steak redone. Took something away from the experience. The value for what... More

Plenty of selections no matter what you are looking for, full bar. The roll they bring you is excellent, food was hot and full of flavor.

Visited restaurant twice, and ordered from 'sundowner' menu available until 6:30, with quite reasonable prices. Food was excellent, especially the popovers. Seats were very comfortable; reminded me of a supper club.

If you follow my reviews, you will see that I do quite a lot of traveling. I base most of my reviews on what is available in the area, and this restaurant is pretty good for the area. It is no downtown Miami or Boston steak house, but for the area, it is pretty darn good. The inside decor could... More

A very good place to get a good meal. Been coming here for years. Prime ribs always good. Reasonable bar choices too.

This place has fantastic food, and the service is great! We stayed at the hotel, which is not 5 stars, but the food definitely is 5 stars. In fact, we stayed at a different hotel on our next trip, but went back to the Sawmill Inn just to eat at this place. Don't miss out!

Go here on Sunday for the waffle bar. They have the best combination of waffle, butter, and syrup combination anywhere in the midwest.

Always good. Wether you come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you won't get a better meal in the Grand Rapids area. For dinner, in the dinning room, I suggest you come between 4-6 pm for the "sundowners" menu, it's more reasonably priced. I really like the walleye ala ritz with their yummy wild rice or the prime rib dinner. Although... More
