Upon walking in, the place smelled yummy! We walked all the way to the back without a single word from anyone who works here and everyone in the place stared at us like we were from outer space. No one asked if they could help us. Their only concern seemed to be with the customers already seated drinking wine. As... More

My husband and I joined friends for an early dinner and all the food was wonderful. The salad with the pears on it was really good and their pizza is always great too. My husband loves their grilled cheese.....very unique and you can pick the cheese you want. When they are busy the service is a little slow because they... More

We just happened to be traveling through Fairbault when it was time for lunch. Instead of eating at the obvious fast food restaurants, we checked Trip Advisor and Cheese Cave was #1, so we went! Physically, the restaurant is small and the front half of the room is a cheese store. There is a bar which is used for pouring... More

The Cheese Cave offers sandwiches, soups and salads, plus free cheese tasting. In my opinion it offers the highest quality food in Faribault. The food served here is outstanding in flavor, presentation and the cost is reasonable. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The Cheese Cave offers many unique cheeses from around the world and they let you sample it... More

I am a local and love to visit the Cheese Cave on my lunch hours. The service (Jake) is excellent and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. They have excellent soup, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. Only wish they had more cheesy soups (especially in the winter) - maybe a bread bowl of soup on the menu?? Nice place, nice people!

Wonderful food. Unexpected delight in downtown Faribault. The cheese is amazing. Service was a little slow when they got a little busy but overall a great place.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that they have a smallish menu. I would eat here every day if I could. Being a Cheeshead (someone from Wisconsin) I thought I had died and gone to heaven when we stepped into the Cheese Cave this past weekend. They have 2 deli cases of cave-made cheese, as well... More

Another great find in downtown Faribault is the Cheese Cave. Their cheeses are out of this world, even something as basic as cheddar is way better than what you get in the grocery store. We love their Jalapeno Cheddar and Tomato Basil Gouda. And don't forget to grab a bag of their white cheddar cheese curds while you're there.

We stopped in to buy cheese before looking for a place to eat lunch. Lo and behold, they served lunch too! And what a delight. We both had salads - one a blue cheese and craisens and one Gorgonzola and pears. They were fantastic. The Gorgonzola is some of the best I have tasted and we each left with a... More

If you're in Faribault - then you must stop at the Cheese Cave. We devoured two small cheese plates and enjoyed some delicious wine. Our server was very helpful in explaining about the cheese caves and describing the various cheeses. I hope that I get a chance to return.
