When we got to Ely this was the first place we ate. I had the lake trout which was good, but had a few small bones in it. My boyfriend had the prime rib which was a bit over cooked. The service was good. It was very warm inside, they needed to turn up the air, as it was very... More

The Grand Ely is famous for it's food and hospitality. The walleye is always done well - the full dinner or the walleye sandwich. We love the linguine - and the serving is always enough for a take home box.

My husband and I ate dinner here today and we were both disappointed with the food. The shrimp (shrimp cocktail) had the texture of being quickly thawed, as one of the shrimp was warm. The wild rice soup had no flavor. Also no flavor in the beef stir fry and the crab stuffed walleye and the filet mignon. The wild... More

To be fair, we visited on a very busy weekend, BUT...the food was terrible (gummy, gluey pasta; inedible fish). Had to re-order our main course after being advised they were out of our original order; also had to re-order drinks three times for the same reason.

Evergreen was just OK. The service at both meals (dinner, on a crowded night, and breakfast, when we had the place to ourselves) was really slow. Breakfast was the better of the two meals - the skillets are outstanding. Dinner was OK - my prime rib was very tough.

The atmosphere was a little dated and the restaurant was stuffy looking, but the food was very good and the service was excellent! Kim was our server and she really made us feel at home. The view is also outstanding and worth having dinner there.

The food was very good and the views of Shagawa Lake are great. The service was friendly, but very slow. Had to ask several times for refills on drinks and it was not terribly busy. Server was nice and friendly, but frustratingly slow.

The food is not gourmet but tasty , plentiful and reasonable. May not be adequate for hefty appetites but for seniors it is especially attractive. The view of the Lake is lovely and surroundings and decor are very nice. An enjoyable meal.
