Had a delightful lunch at Cocina del Barrio. Everything we had was quite good. It was a beautiful day, and we ate outside, which certainly enhanced our experience. Started our meal with their freshly made guacamole with a side of a smoky salsa. We shared the goat cheese and beet salad and the chicken tinga salad. Also, I had one... More

Won't bother going back for another visit. The decor is interesting, but that would not be enough to save this place for me -- unless they up the ante and do something like La Casa Bonita... I love Mexican foods and like to try them eating out and creating meals at home, so this wasn't our first experience with the... More

The 'rita was great. The food was flavorful, fresh and very authentic in flavor with a non traditional flair on presentation. I was seriously disappointed with the price. 2 sopes for 10 bucks. Fresh quac was fabulous but then when we ran out of chips we were charged another dollar for more chips. WTH is that, we were not even... More

My wife and I stopped by Barrio mid-afternoon on a Saturday and took a high-top table in the front bar area. There were many great tables available due to it being between the lunch and dinner timeframes. We had attentive service right from the beginning and started with their Trinity margaritas and chips with a salsa trio of roasted tomato-chile,... More

Went to Barrio last night with some friends and it was a cool place, but... I loved the food, excellent food, very authentic Mexican. But $5 a taco is insane... I lived in Cancun for 7 years and even in the most expensive tourist areas they don't charge that much... And when my wife asked for a margarita the waiter... More

My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant while strolling down Frances Ave. We were lured by the aroma of the wood grill. As we stood outside debating, a couple of regular visitors raved to us about the place and so we followed them in. The guacamole alone would have sent us home happy. It was the freshest and tastiest... More

We went here July 4, 2013 and were pleasantly surprised. Like the others have mentioned, the service is slow and I never was able to get a soft drink refill, but the food was really good. We got the guacamole and chips and had the pork burritos. The waiter did point out which were the "small plates". The burritos weren't... More

Took a LONG time for food and I was alone long after the rush on a slower night. Food wasn't that great. Drinks were good though. Atmosphere was very nice. Typical Edina restaurant-nice ambience, hip crowd, food is nothing to write home about. Overall, I doubt ill be back.

Food is quite good, but the portions are miniscule. They aren't lying when they call them small plates. Stopped in for a bite during the Edina Art Fair and it was not crowded at all. Tried to put us in a far away corner and we asked for a different table. Service was ok, not very polished. Good guacamole, chips... More

If this restaurant were a tandem bicycle, I think you would find it propelled by a great chef in back pedaling like a champ... In my experience, the servers up front didn't seem to be pedaling nearly as hard... In fact, they may have been pedaling backwards. The food was outstanding. Hope your service experience is better.
