Stopped by for the Monday night buffet tonight, but should have looked it over and moved on. I was in the mood for pizza, but what was served was more like what somebody else prior described it as "crust was like a very bad cracker" and unless the sign above the pizza had described what kind of pizza it was,... Picked up a Sammys for the Super Bowl, our fav the Crew Special. This is twice in a row now that it was complete crap! I have lived in the twin ports for close to 50 years now and have been a loyal Sammys pizza guy. No longer, hardly any sausage, I coukd taste mushrooms on like 6 pieces, lack... More

But my digestive system can't digest tomato sauce or peppers like it used to. Acid reflux. Now I need something calmer. Mushrooms, Pineapple, Onions maybe a nice alfredo sauce instead of that wonderful red sauce that I loved so much. sigh

We ate the buffet on Sunday, August 17th. My favorite pizza is thin crust but this crust was like a very bad cracker. The toppings were very sparse. Since it was cut in squares the customers were eating the inside of the pizza and leaving the outer pieces. The rest of the buffet had very limited choices.

My wife grew up in neighboring Proctor, but we've lived in the mid-Atlantic for over twenty years. Whenever we go back to visit her family there are a three "must visit" restaurants on her list: ice cream at Bridgeman's, lunch at Grandma's, and pizza at Sammy's. On our most recent visit we had a group of ten family members and... More

Live in Japan most of the year, Sammy's was the first food stop in Duluth! It is just plain old fashioned, great pizza. We went back two more times before returning to Japan. Has been an institution since the time of my birth and is one of the few survivors of the era and the reason is clear: really great... More

Everyone in Duluth loves Sammy's. I wasn't impressed. The pizza is thin and cut into tiny squares. It was pretty good thin pizza, but the selection on the buffet is pretty limited. The other non-pizza items were all very generic, I've had better cafeteria food. I definitely prefer Pizza Luce downtown Duluth for better food and atmosphere.

We were home to Duluth for a birthday and we all had lunch at Sammy's. I grew up eating pizza at this store so it is always fun to go back. Sammy's here or Sammy's there - consistently tasty and simply the best pizza!! Service to our table of 6 was very good.
