Great view and sandwiches

Nice patio with view of lake across street. Easy walk to boardwalk or park if you wish to take order there. Friendly staff. We ordered turkey salad (great) and tuna melt (would've been better with albacore). Kettle chips and a dill pickle (considerately wrapped so it wouldn't leak into everything... read more

We stopped there for lunch and loved it. You order inside and they give you a number and bring your food to you. We had 1/2 sandwich and a cup of soup for $6.50. You custom order your sandwich with bread and meat choices, cheese and veggies and we had four soup choices and chose the squash soup and it... More

We heard about this place from a co worker who was meeting family here for lunch. Very popular with local people and for good reason. Great variety of sandwiches and soups as well as many beers and more. I had a Cuban sandwich which was different than most but in a good way. My wife had a beef sandwich and... More

Nice food selection. I started with the smoked butternut squash soup... May not sound good but it was completely yummy. Finished with the Cuban, pork smoked on site recommended by the bar keep. Nice selection of drafts and bottles. The free samples were great. Highly recommend. The live music was a nice touch too.

We went here because I wanted a brew and the place looked interesting. Parking was limited but we found a spot easy enough in the back then walked around to the front. On entering there was a small group at a table on the left and the bar was on the right. We went to the bar and it was... More

The tavern is situated across from Lake Superior. The Cuban sandwich was very tasty(a little spicy) The onion soup was lukewarm. The service and selection of beer on tap was excellent.

Whether you live in Duluth or surrounding area or are just passing through town you really need to stop in at Sir Benect's Tavern on the Lake. This quaint pub offers several local brews in addition to a full bar. Their menu consists of mainly homemade sandwiches and soups, & great nachos. What you won't find here are burgers, fries... Sir Ben's is always worth the stop. The food is always good, the service great, and the atmosphere cozy and inviting. My husband and I always make it a priority to stop here whenever we are in Duluth. In the summer we love sitting on the patio, facing the lake enjoying a relaxed environment. This place is old with a... More

Came here after a looooong day at the DECC. Our bartender was funny and quick. Open mike is always interesting, esp when you are NOT a local. Had a great time and 4 drinks were under $20. Pretty nice.

My wife and I were driving through Duluth on a rainy Fall afternoon looking for someplace new to try. We've driven by Sir Ben's numerous times and just never stopped. Turns out that was a bad decision. This place is a gem. When we entered we were greeted warmly by Josephine who was tending bar and taking orders. She proceeded... More
