This is cozy place just north of Duluth and it does have a scenic view of Lake Superior. Most tables have a nice view of the lake. We had a late lunch on a cool September afternoon. I ordered the soup, salad and bread. The soup was beef stew and it was the best I've ever had. I was very... More

The most amazing meal with great view of Lake Superior. Curry blue mussels were wonderful with a great sauce. Tomato blue cheese soup with bits of vegetables and crusty bread...so good. Asparagus and fried egg sandwich on ciabatta bread topped it off. Two of us shared the dishes and presentation was beautiful. Service was excellent. I would give this meal... More

We arrived with no reservation. We were seated after a short wait. The menu was varied. The dishes selected were beautifully presented and just excellent! A real treat!

Thoroughly acceptable food (try the tuna tacos), good wine and splendid view of Lake Superior. You could go fat "wronger."

We stopped here for lunch as part of a day trip up the North Shore. I had the fried egg and asparagus sandwich and it was absolutely fantastic. Prepared with fresh ingredients with exquisite toasted bread. The service was good and the view of the lake just makes a good eating experience even better. Highly recommended.

Incredible view with fresh, delicious food. I got the Chilean sea bass special and was blown away. The hostess is beautiful!

My wife and I have driven past the New Scenic Cafe on trips to the North Shore for some time and have long said "We should stop there some time". We said that about the Nokomis Cafe, only to find on one trip up there the Nokomis had closed down. Not wanting that to happen before we could try the... More

I agree with other reviewers that if you go to this place for supper, the price is somewhat high. (I think the lunch offers are reasonable) However, for a treat it is my favorite place to go. You receive a 5 star meal without having to feel like you must arrive in a tux and diamonds. Good service, wonderful food,... More

We returned to this restaurant after having come here many times before. We remembered the food as unique but this time it went to extreme - overly precious, either overly or under seasoned and very, very overpriced. In fact we were charged a dollar for the bread after paying $33 for a cut of meat smeared with chocolate! We will... More

The food was okay, though very "fussy" - apparently that justifies the high prices. The weekday evening we were there the server clearly had too many tables. While the restaurant wasn't packed, the kitchen seemed backed up--the appetizer we ordered came after a 40 minute wait. The half price wine selections ended up being charged full price on our bill--which... More
