We ate here a few years ago and were excited to return during our next trip to Duluth. I was very disappointed. This place is expensive so it had better be great to justify the prices. The place seemed dirty. The chairs were gross. The food was bland. I tried the tilapia and everything needed salt. The fish was served... More

This is a pretty regular stop for us in Duluth. New ownership since last trip. Food was pretty good. We will go back.

Delicious food. Unique. Great service. Very enjoyable evening. Loved the whitefish potato cakes. Will definitely go back next time in Duluth. Fabulous cocktail with local gin.

We happened upon the Lake Avenue Cafe while walking around Duluth. Decided to have lunch there because the menu was pretty unique. It took a while for anyone to greet us, but it was uphill from then on! Our server was great - she happily offered samples of beer and even soup to help us decide what we wanted to... More

Stopped here just for Drinks. Bartender was really nice. Didn't order because it was a little pricey. Just looking for appetziers, and didn't care to spend 15 dollars on an app. But menu selection looked good and unique

I have been to the Lake Avenue Cafe several times and, although the food is usually good, I never feel like it is worth what they charge. Breakfast was pretty good and not too expensive. Appetizers are good but pricey, but the dinner I had earlier this week was a disappointment. The Tilapia entree was $20 and had 1-1/2 thin... More

Well prepared, creative but down to earth food. The heirloom tomato torte was so rich but so good. Max and cheese is an appetizer for 4 big and filling portions of tasty, crunchy, creamy goodness. Go and try this place!

We eat at the Lake Avenue Cafe often, we enjoy the atmosphere, the waitstaff is very well trained, and the food is usually very good with a large variety of options. This last time we went we were disappointed that they were out of so many things on the menu, they were only only open for a few hours when... More

We've been on a road trip for two months and we have eaten in restaurants every day. The ban mi sandwich was the best sandwich I have had on this entire trip-my husband thought his burger was equally great. All that and it was half price wine day. A bottle of Louis Latour Chardonnay for $13! No complaints about the... More

Great service - friendly and helpful servers. We ate fish sandwiches filled with locally caught fish, while sitting on their outdoor deck on a sunny day, washing it down with great local beer. Perfect lunch after getting off the scenic boat ride, gathering our strength for shopping in that beautiful historic building filled with unique shops.
