We eat at the Lake Avenue Cafe often, we enjoy the atmosphere, the waitstaff is very well trained, and the food is usually very good with a large variety of options. This last time we went we were disappointed that they were out of so many things on the menu, they were only only open for a few hours when... More

We've been on a road trip for two months and we have eaten in restaurants every day. The ban mi sandwich was the best sandwich I have had on this entire trip-my husband thought his burger was equally great. All that and it was half price wine day. A bottle of Louis Latour Chardonnay for $13! No complaints about the... More

Great service - friendly and helpful servers. We ate fish sandwiches filled with locally caught fish, while sitting on their outdoor deck on a sunny day, washing it down with great local beer. Perfect lunch after getting off the scenic boat ride, gathering our strength for shopping in that beautiful historic building filled with unique shops.

We stopped for lunch here and I was not impressed. In fact, I would strongly recommend going right across the way to the Northern Waters Smokehaus. Both restaurants are in a converted warehouse. We watched a steady stream if customers going into Nirthern Waters while we waited for our meals. The Lake Avenue cafe is not terrible, it's just overpriced... More

Fun spot to stop while enjoying the Canal Park area in Duluth. Interesting menu. Food is tasty. Atmosphere is great, too!

Based on the positive reviews, it must have been a bad night. In all fairness, the restaurant was very warm and flies were buzzing everywhere. A/C might not have been working properly which is not good because this establishment is located at the end of the building that faces direct PM sun.and Duluth was going through a hot spell. The... If you want to overspend for some dishes that are just a little bit out of the ordinary, stop in here. Everything has been good, food and service, but nothing standout except the cost for the meals available.

In the tourist district, the Lake Avenue Cafe, was tasty albeit the service was rather slow. Favorites for us included the Perch tacos and the Lake Superior fish sandwich. (We did wish there had been a grilled option as the fish was breaded and fried.) Nice atmosphere and very close to the Canal Park tourist sites including the Aerial LIft... More

Had the wild-rice falafel dish, with great flavor. Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy the sun and breeze in Canal Park. There was a decent crowd for a Monday and waitstaff continued to check on us and really helpful.

We've been to the Lake Avenue Cafe many times.....so convenient when shopping in Canal area. But I think the place is slipping. Service was extremely slow! Food was mixed. My soup was good but it came with chilled bread. Husband's hamburger was cold. Grandson's sandwich was fine. The restaurant was fairly empty at 1 in the afternoon, so it wasn't... More
