I had the goose cassoulet. Aside from my wife's cassoulet, it was the best I've had since we were in Carcassone. The wine list is good, ambience is a delight and the service is great. It's a must stop for us when we go to Duluth.

We went here on the recommendation from a local and enjoyed it. Interesting cocktails and good tap beer. Possibly the best mac and cheese I've had and my husband really liked the bbq pork filet thing. We shared a wedge salad which I highly recommend. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the French onion soup - I like... More

We had dinner here and ordered a number of appetizers ("smaller plates") - all quite interesting tastes. The pork belly in the ssam was mouthwatering and tender; the bacon chiruzo dates were very good. However the goose pizza we tried tasted somewhat flat - a lot of goose meat but not much else. The udon noodle is more south Asian... More

We ate here for lunch because we had a 6 month old grandson with us and mom and dad did not want to wait in line for the Northern Waters Smokhaus (across the hall) and have to eat outside. So we walked into the almost empty Lake Avenue Café with no wait and plenty of seating. The lunch menu was... More

Absolutely by chance we stumbled onto this cafe for lunch. Not being overly hungry, two of us split a French toast rueben sandwich that consisted of corned beef, French toast with cinnamon, pickled cabbage and a rich Gruyere sauce. It sounded both intriguing and strange at the same time but the bartender/owner of the restaurant convinced us that it was... More

We arrived late after getting in town (about 7:30) and were seated immediately. They have a full bar and some really interesting specialty cocktails. My husband had the pork chop and I had the steak. Both were really quite wonderful. We also split a wonderful chocolate flour-less torte. We plan to return and try more of their wonderful menu.

with a visit to Lake Avenue Cafe in Duluth. Locavore, seasonal cafe, with great service. The coq au vin was amazing, ditto for the Catch of the Day (Whitefish) sandwich.

We went without a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes until they accepted walk-ins. We filled the time walking to the light house. When we returned 25 minutes later they seated us immediately. Menu had a nice variety with selections that seemed to fit the north shore. Prices were fair and service was good. Most importantly food was delicious.... More

We were over in the smokehouse across the hall and asked for a good dinner place. They told us it was great. So we tried -we had to wait until 7:30 before they accepted walk ins. The menu was interesting so after much exploring we had a "silly goose" pizza and truffle Mac n cheese along with elk and venison... More

We ate here a few years ago and were excited to return during our next trip to Duluth. I was very disappointed. This place is expensive so it had better be great to justify the prices. The place seemed dirty. The chairs were gross. The food was bland. I tried the tilapia and everything needed salt. The fish was served... More
