Everything from our award winning breads to our crisp golden hash browns are made from scratch daily. Whether it's muffins for your morning meeting or a cake for your wedding, the Amazing Grace Bakery and Cafe is gladly here to serve you. We have always seen the need for locally conscious and globally friendly businesses. That's why we also specialize in local eggs from Promised Land Farms, local honey from the Bar Bell Bee Ranch, fresh local beer from the Bent Paddle Brewing Company, beans from local roasters Alakef, local syrup from Simple Gifts, all of our to go containers and utensils are compostable, and we also compost all of our food and coffee waste. This bakery that added a coffee shop that started making sandwiches that started making breakfast all in the same spot has been locally owned and operated since its inception, 1995. Built on one iconic saying from our late founder, "be kind, be brave, don't eat bad bread", the Amazing Grace has held true to those ideals for nearly two decades and will for many more to come.

First stop of the day

We arrive in Canal Park early in the day and decided to get a coffee and a quick bite to eat, so we went to Amazing Grace. It was quite busy, but we were fortunate enough to snag the last table. The coffee is really quite good, and reasonably priced. I also had the feta and spinach quiche, which... read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch while we were waking around canal park. We were impressed with the atmosphere and the workers were very friendly, but we ended up having to spit a meal because it was so expensive. It was about $16 for us to split a sandwich and a bowl of soup. Don't get me wrong,... More

We stopped while waiting for the north woods smoke haus to open. A dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso) and a lemongrass mint tea. The Rosemary bacon scone stole the show. We've stopped before and will certainly be back!

We have been the Amazing Grace many times. It is one of our favorite places to eat lunch in Duluth or to just go for a midmorning coffee and a muffin. Fabulous baked goods as well as wonderfully hearty soups and sandwhiches. I believe they bake all their bread and other baked goods as well. They are cafeteria style and... More

Avoid the height of lunch hour, or expect to stand in line. But your fellow standees will be friendly, the bread will be perfect, the servings large (a half-sandwich and cup of soup make for a fine lunch) and you will have fun. Coffee, pastries, lunch items are all fresh and top-quality. It's a small place featuring quirky posters and... More

This is a favorite meeting spot for coffee lovers and there's good reason, their coffee is great here. It's not cheap by any means, almost $4 for "unlimited" refills on drip coffee (compared to $2 at Starbucks with a free refill), but if you're going to sit for a couple of hours, you might burn through 2-3 cups and then... The Grace is great. Food is wonderful, the bakery treats are delightful, etc. etc. Love going there, but honestly, there has got to be a way to increase the efficiency. I waited for 1/2 hour one day just for something from the bakery. This was standing behind two other people who similarly ordered some coffee and treats. Four people walked... More

i can't even begin to tell you how terrible the service was on this visit to Amazing Grace. i place the blame squarely on our server, not the restaurant as a whole as i've been other times and loved it. definitely make a trip here for sunday brunch but i hope beyond hope you get a different server than i... The food here is the best (mostly organic and always fresh) in the area. The only issue is that the service can be very slow. It is a "throw back" to the sixties, kind of s funky place, but the breads are baked fresh daily and the food is excellent. Looks like a local student hang out. If you have... More
