Food was fantastic

We were wandering downtown Duluth and smell of food coming out of this place was incredible. After no a bit more we decided to go back and try it. The food was amazing, the service was great. I had the sirloin 8oz with veggies and potatoes and coffee. My husband had the king size prime rib with... read more

I've been to Duluth multiple times and this was my first visit. I loved the old building and comfortable atmosphere. We went for breakfast and the food was OK. My traditional breakfast was not warm when it arrived and my sons meal was not completely cooked. The other 2 people in our group were happy with the sausage gravy and... More

This was our first visit to Tycoon's, and we'll be back . They are owned by the same company as Fitger's, and so they have Fitger's beer AND their Wild Rice Burger (my must-have every time I visit Duluth)!

Walk into the turn of the last century old Duluth city hall and someone with a good eye and good taste created a welcoming atmosphere for dining and drinking. The food was good, though not pushing anyone's sense of adventure. The pot roast was tender - the vegetables barely warm, let alone cooked. The whitefish was good, but a bit... More

We were able to request private dining for a party of 8. It was a blast and everyone was impressed with the food. Beats having to cook in your own home and still have the privacy without having to pay a monthly fee to belong to a private club.

I went to Tycoons for dinner with some colleagues during a business trip to Duluth. The restaurant had a charming, kind of eccentric atmosphere with old portraits and photos, combined with classic music yet a modern vibe. I had the whitefish and it was terrific! I wanted to try something local, and knew that the fish wouldn't be freshly caught... More

We went to Tycoons for lunch after our original puck was packed. It was early in the day so we had great service at the bar due to it being slow. I had a bloody mary and their battered cod. Very delicious. My boyfriend had their wild rice burger and said it was delicious. We would definately stop again next... More

Walking in to Tycoon's I knew we would have a great experience, the hostess was friendly, the restaurant had a great ambience and the bar area looked inviting and energetic. I ordered the beef stroganoff and was very happy, the flavor was great and the portion was healthy. My husband got the workingman's pot roast, it was so tender and... More

We stop by Tycoon's most every time we visit Duluth. As you are probably aware by now the building used to be the Duluth City Hall and the basement was a temporary holding cell for the jail next door. It is now the Rathskeller (basement bar) and is a very cool room to spend some time in and enjoy some... More

Stopped in late evening, for drinks and appetizers, was one of few places still serving food downtown. Sat at bar, tender was attentive and professional. Tomato soup was good, but nothing special, the Devil Eggs, made from store bought hard boiled eggs, where wet and not the prettiest plate. Suggest drying the eggs before plating, fill the eggs completely, and... More
