My daughter brought me to Hanabi for Mother's Day. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was great. The food was unique and flavorful. I've never tasted fish so fresh! It was definitely an impressive place to go. We'll be going back soon!

Aside from the neighborhood and the noise, the sushi and service is the best we've experienced anywhere in the world. The chefs are always creative in their presentation, the sushi always fresh, and the service excellent. Don't miss this one for a true sushi experience.

Go to Hanabi for the best sushi in the Northland. You can sit at the counter and watch it being prepared, you can sit at a table and enjoy the fine service of excellent and knowledgeable waiters, and a good wine selection including excellent sake. The only disappointment I experience there is the extremely limited brew selection. In a town... More

I took my family to Hanabi Japanese restaurant. The Sushi was great with our favorite being the 'Crunchy Roll'. The service was good and the price was very reasonable for sushi.

What a windfall for Duluth to get this fantastic restaurant, which would not be out of place in NYC or San Francisco, with its sleek, modernistic interior and utterly fantastic food and service. We've never had better sushi anywhere! The tofu teriyaki is wonderful, and the kone salad and seaweed salad are also great. All of the waitresses are very... More

We live near Duluth, MN and go eat at Hanabi's frequently. We have never experienced bad food or bad service. The food tastes very authentic compared to "chain" Japanese restaurants. I have been to restaurants such as Osaka and Ichibans and neither measured up to the dining experience we have when we are at Hanabi's. We always start off our... More

A bit hard to find. Place was packed at around 9 PM. Sushi and sashimi were great, very fresh. The server though was distracted and kept talking to this one person and so we had to keep calling her. Not bad, so-so. The atmosphere is so-so too. No theme at all.

I'm not a big sushi fan (my girlfriend is though) but I enjoyed all of the sushi I tried. I also ate some tempura dishes that I really enjoyed. The ambiance was very nice, well decorated and a great menu, too.

This place is wonderful! It isn't owned by the Pauluccis (a BIG PLUS right there), and it's not in the overcrowded tourist district of Canal Park. It"s right downtown with plenty of street parking that is easy to find and use. The food was amazing! This is seriously a great addition to Duluth. The sushi samples were very varied (love... More
