JJ Astor is a lovely place for dinner and drinks--literally. The service is excellent, the wine and cocktail selections are varied and delicious, and the food is tasty and well-prepared. Make a reservation and you can sit on the moving circle, which allows you do see fabulous views of Lake Superior and the city of Duluth.

Unfortunately the experience was less than stellar. I ordered the scallop appetizer at the recommendation of a friend. It was delicious! Both myself and another girl at the table ordered the gnocchi. The difference between the two plates was staggering. Mine was incredibly salty, burnt, tasting, and in a pool of liquid. The other order was double the portion, not... More

This is an upper end restaurant (fancy, dress nicely) atop the Radisson hotel in Duluth. The view from the (very slowly) rotating restaurant is amazing! (Worth the trip just for the view, in my opinion!) The whole revolution takes like an hour and 10 mins or so (so its slowly rotating...you won't get motion sick or anything like that!) The... More

I visited Duluth recently, in May 2012. I had a date night with my husband at the JJ Astor rest. The views from my table was great, i loved it! The food was average and a bit over priced, the wine was ave of $28 per bottle.Which was not that bad. As for the Service, the waitress was not neat... More

We are locals and have enjoyed numerous meals at JJ Astor (the "old" Top of the Harbor). We have been to JJ for lunch and for dinner and, without fail, our food has been excellent. That said, the service it disappointing. Mid-day staff often appear unkept - food spattered, ill-fitting clothes. Evening dinners are served by more professional staff but... More

We had a nice meal here the night before Mother's Day. My father was okay with the Elk, but not a big fan. My Prawns were huge and excellent as was my apple/candied bacon salad and my mom said she had not had such good pork tenderloin EVER.

Review title tells it all...the menu is excellent, we had the pork tenderloin which was perfect. The restaurant is on the top floor of the Radisson hotel, which provides amazing views of downtown Duluth as well as Lake Superior. Revolving feature was a little disorienting, but cool nonetheless. Go for the dessert too...you will not be disappointed. Last but certainly... More

We got a deal where we could eat a free breakfast each morning in the revolving restaurant at the Radisson. What a way to start the day. We did not need to eat lunch as they serve so much and they were excellent. I had the crab benedict the first day, French Toast, and then the last day I had... More

It’s becoming all too rare to find a spectacular dining experience – where the entire experience is 5-stars and the price point is appropriate. However, the opportunity to indulge is alive and well at the revolving restaurant – JJ Astor – high atop the Radisson Hotel in Downtown Duluth. Here, my traveling companion and I found the perfect dining experience... More

For a very special birthday we spent the night in Duluth and made reservations at JJ Astor. Stepping off the elevator we were immediately welcomed and shown to our table right away. From the roof of the Marriot in downtown Duluth you could see for miles. One of the attractions is of course the rotating restaurant, unique to the area.... More
