Tried to give new owner advice of what was falling short and what needed to improve....based on my travel and former experience in the business and his response was ....Oh well..... And walked away. Great location, awesome new details, food has improved over summer, but owners don't have a clue and don't hesitate to insult those that truly want them... More

The new owners have bought new chairs, painted the walls and placed vases of flowers on the tables. The food and service are good, too!

Whenever we have guests at our lake home, we like to show them the lake by boating to The Landing for lunch. For years I have rated the walleye sandwich the best on the lake as executed by their chef who was formerly at The Wilderness Grill. When I inquired of our waiter if he was still at The Landing,... Showed up on a Thursday evening with two small children and was turned away because we didn't have reservations. Would not let us sit in the bar area to eat. Would not take our order for an hour and half.Further more the dinning room was less than half occupied. Most likely the last time we dine here. New owners need... More

Just stopped by on a Friday night for dinner with the family on the boat. We had 3 adults 1 child. Now when I am staying at the lake and boating, swimming, and just in vacation mode the last thing I want to do is worry about making reservations! We were told reservations are highly recommended, however, we will try... More

My husband & I went to the Landing on Lake Vermilion on July 30th, 2014. The place is very nice with a great view of the lake. We had a very attentive server who was friendly. Just be aware the Landing has a very limited menu. Maybe it was the day we were there, but basically there are appetizers, several... More

We are here for a family reunion renting a big house and pontoon on the lake. We have enjoyed many lunches at The Landing and have been very impressed by the great food, drinks, and service. It was really busy at lunch yesterday, and service was slower, but we still had a great time.

I will start by complimenting the new owners for the recent upgrade of the landing. beautiful bar and dining room log furniture create such a grand look. the lakeside patio and pontoon stage are great fun. the new lakeside tables look great but are very uncomfortable. seat is too narrow. after 30 minutes we all commented and so did the... Same great location for boaters, new menu featuring one intriguing entree containing "ions" but most items are thinly-disguised Upper Lakes Foods fare. Service has been slow, but hope to see it improve as the all-new staff get into the groove. Portions can be skimpy, for the price. Main gripe: servers are constantly trying to "upsell" like at Manny's in Mpls:... More

The new owners, Tony and Matt are really dedicated to making The Landing a great place to enjoy on Lake Vermilion. Yes, the food can be a bit slow coming out at busy times but Tony informed me that this spring, they will be going out 30 feet to enlarge the kitchen which should help to rectify the situation. They also...
