Old Time Drive In - Great Food

This is a very popular place for people to stop for a meal while traveling highway 53. Nothing special about the location, but the food is good and the orders are filled quickly for travelers who are time conscience. Have heard about Gordy's for years, and then the DDD segment made me definitely want to go. It's a fun little retro place, with the feel of an old drive-in (although with inside seating). My wife and I each had a burger, since that is what they're most known for. They were nothing special whatsoever. Basically reminded me of any... More

Was going to go to the Family Tradition Restaurant but saw this and it was busy and looked like a local hangout like I like to frequent and seek out when I am on the road. I was not disappointed. The burger was a little small but that was good for my diet. :-) I had a mushroom swiss burger... More

On the way home from a road trip, I thought it would be a good idea to stop at Gordy's HI Hat. I have always wanted to eat here since it was aired on DDD. I had a less-than positive experience, which is why I dropped the star rating. The burger was only a step up from McDonalds. It is... More

Best fish burgers on earth! Consist of 4 fish fillets breaded to perfection served on a toasted bun with lettuce, and tartar sauce on the side. It seems expensive, but is worth every cent!

Gordy's has the best food in Cloquet. The fish is amazing, you will not be disappointed. The only thing I can complain about is they are not open year around. They have been on the food network Diner's, Drive inn's and Dive's. Gordy's is our first stop on our way to Duluth.

When we travel, we love to seek out local burger joints. We are from Oklahoma, land of cattle and top quality beef, so we love us a good burger. We were traveling back home from Duluth, and I found this place online, and when I read that it was a DDD diner, we had to go. The burger was pretty... More

We have made it a tradition to stop at Gordy's on our annual trip to northern Minnesota for the greatest burger around. You never fail to see a packed establishment. They give you a quick meal with great flavor. I wouldn't dream of stopping anywhere else. Unfortunately...they are not open year round. The staff is so friendly and I think... More

My boyfriend and I went to Duluth and stopped here because I saw it on the TV show "Diners, Drive Inns, and Dives".... And it is even better in person!!! It is so old school and the owner, Gordy, was even behind the corner taking orders. It is so cool! He even owns a coffee shop right next door. It's... More

While camping in the area, we happened to drive past Gordy's Hi Hat when my husband noticed the "fish and chips" special on their sign, so we made a u-turn and stopped for dinner. You place your order at the counter, then pay when it's ready. It's a small place, so we were glad to find a table. Many people... More
