Sad to hear Chez Daniel is closing tomorrow and will reopen as more of a bistro after remodeling this summer. Use your coupons now!

I only went there because I had a groupon. I wasn't impressed. It was typical hotel fare. Escargot was pretty good, entree was just okay, dessert wasn't that great. Wine list was boring, mostly run of the mill stuff. Nothing was particularly French. Service was okay but lacked the polish necessary at a fine restaurant. Overall, I don't want my... More

Chez Daniel is a real find in a city full of restaurants that serve basic mid-Western fare. The Sunday brunch is the best in town and definitely worth the modest $22 for this type of food. There are lots of "stations" so if you like eating in courses, you'll enjoy the display of options. Choices include multiple types of salads... More

My first restaurant after a long day of air travel turned out to be a winner. Chez Daniel is a surprise to be located inside a hotel, but definitely worth finding. Quaint French décor and attentive staff are just part of the reason for a visit. I enjoyed quiche Lorraine, straw potatoes, fresh steamed vegetables, French onion soup, and a... More

We brought the family here for Sunday brunch to celebrate Grandma's birthday. It was lovely. The setting is the hotel lobby with skylights, it's a great way to feel like you're outside when it's rainy and cold. The food is good, the 7yo found a lot that she liked as did Grandma and Dad the foodie. It's a buffet with... More

Chez Daniel is the only restaurant option in the Embassy Suites, Bloomington so it can get a little boring if your stay is any longer that 4-5 days. I stayed at this hotel for 10 days and was tired of Chez Daniel by the 4th night. The restaurant menu is the exact same as the room service menu, so you'll... More

This restaurant is touted as an innovative French Bistro. NOT SO!! It is grossly overpriced. Nobody speaks French. And, the food is far from what one would expect in Paris (or even Avion or Lyon for that matter!) The foie gras was far too sweet; the french onion soup was too bland and arrived cool. The escargots came in a... More

The Living Social menu at Chez Daniel was a 3 course chef's tasting menu with wine. Each course offered several enticing options. In addition to the delicious food, Chez Daniel has marvelous, quiet, romantic ambience with multiple intimate dining areas. Very elegant extras such as the palate cleansing raspberry sorbet and the chocolate dipped strawberries add to a beautiful dining... More

My husband and I had a great meal with our living social voucher. My beef medallions were a bit overcooked but everything else was exceptional. The atmosphere was great. It was very quiet and you could actually carry on a conversation. Not a place to go if you're in a hurry but we had a great, relaxing meal.

This is located inside the Embassy Suites and I was completely SHOCKED by the costs of the meal. The evening I was there was prime rib night. A 12 oz cut was $39.95. Reading reviews, I also tried the onion soup and I can say it was amazing as well. I was shocked that a cup of soup was $12.95.... More
