Service with a smile. Best potatoe salad! Wild rice from the wild! Baked potatoes! The walleye was so nicely coated. Not greasy breading. The decor was authentic Northern History! Very classy and fun place! Next to an agate museum and jewelry shop! The Falls nearby are amazing to see

Our party of four women friends spent a few days on the North Shore and stopped for a late lunch at Camp 61 after a visit to Tettegouche State Park (also wonderful). The whole vibe of this highway roadhouse was warm and friendly. The owner greeted us and stopped by our table several times to see if we were satisfied.... More

Good service and barbeque. Award winning barbeque. Good to take kids. Very nice people. Nice place to stop for lunch or dinner and the barbeque options are good.

I stopped in for a light lunch at this roadside cafe. The decor was country warm, with fish and beverage related wall art. I ordered the special, which changes daily - I had a nice sandwich of grilled chicken with Swiss cheese and buffalo sauce, which was very tasty. Service was friendly and quite casual - I appreciated the low... More

We were out hiking and we're desperate for lunch. We left a state park and saw Camp 61....sign said they had award winning BBQ...we laughed but went in anyway as we were hungry. So glad we did!!! We got the champion bbq sandwich, pulled pork with their homemade slaw. Do not kid yourself this bbq is the real deal. Last... More

We checked out Camp 61 on Trip Advisor and found it was very highly recommended in the Beaver Bay area. Since we were staying just a few minutes away from the restaurant, we decided to give it a try. We definitely weren't disappointed! I had a glass of wine, and my companion had a beer to start off our dining... More

We have a cabin outside of Grand Marais and have eaten at many of the north shore restaurants over the years. We used to go to this location years ago when it went by a different name. Cosy, rustic atmosphere. But the food is the star! Amazing BBQ pit smoked chicken. Truely the best I have ever had. Pulled BBQ... More

Upon a friend's recommendation for a good lunch on the way "Up North", we stopped at Camp 61 in Beaver Bay, Mn. We were told that the barbeque was their specialty. Little did we know! Todd, the owner, recently competed for World's honors for the best barbeque in a cook off in Las Vegas, after surviving several preliminary rounds. His... More

I ordered their Special Philly Steak, this was supposed to be made with Brisket. I didn't care for it at all. not sure what all was on top even, but what ever it was, was too much. It did not agree with me at all!! Hubby had their Breakfast Burger, and he did not care for his meal either. Will we... More

I stopped here after a cold day on the North Shore and, at my friend's urging, tried the smoked thick-cut pork chop. It was exceptional. The best chop I've ever had. The decor was warm and friendly and the staff were all wonderful.
