Absolutely fantastic. We had the herring special, fresh caught, lightly breaded and well seasoned. Friendly and inviting service and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend!

We originally wanted to try lemon wolf, but the wait was too long. Glad we checked out camp 61. Although there was a wait, there were places to sit. I had the pasta w fennel sausage, yummy w garlic bread. My husband had a Cuban sandwich, Minnesota is not a barbeque place, so it was average. With beverages, the bill... More

On our first evening in the area we visited here. We both chose pulled pork sandwiches. The pork was very tasty, moist and tender with a smoky sauce to accompany. Although there only appeared to be two staff covering both tables and bar we were served quickly and efficiently. We liked the casual atmosphere and though it was a good... More

Outstanding BBQ meats. Nothing even close to this quality in the twin cities or Duluth. Comfortable relaxing place to enjoy life on the North Shore

I have stopped in here twice on my way to and from Grand Marais. The restaurant and bar area are nicely decorated with a homey feel. I have always eaten at the bar and found the staff friendly and helpful. Being particularly fond of Wild Rice Soup I have found their soup offerings to be excellent. First stop I had... More

To borrow a phrase from another review.... this is a good family restaurant--but not fine dining. I had the herring. I liked it. My family members seemed to be reasonably pleased with their choices as well. The waitstaff was attentive but not intrusive.

Beaver Bay (pop 181) does not have a lot of dining options. We had a good meal here but not fine dining. The menu is classic American. Oddly, for a restaurant that touts its Bar B Q, there was no Bar B Q entree on the menu aside from the chicken which was two breasts with sauce on the side... More

Cute little rustic joint! We all enjoyed our food and the potato salad here was to die for! Made with sour cream base I think- so yummy! Great BBQ pulled pork and roast beef sandwiches. My 10 year old had the olive hamburger which he devoured and that was "awesome"! They even had my favorite hard cider in the bottle... More

We ate here twice, and each time we had a good meal. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone.....it was easy to find and easy to get in and out.

This place is right on the highway so maybe that is why it is so busy. Once we ate our food, we realized it was the food and service that made this place so busy. Very friendly servers and they were quick too, but not to quick to chat a little with you.
