Lovely lake view and garden but food is awful! Their idea of mango salsa is canned fruit with maraschino cherries. Basic seasoning for fish is unpalatable.

I enjoyed the Northwoods Sampler lunch plate, which was mostly wonderful -- tasty soup with delicious warm breadsticks, small piece of Pan-fried walleye, and greens with the house made mango salsa. The only thing I didn't care for was the slice of quiche - the pastry was a bit soggy and greasy and I wondered if it was leftover from... More

Definitely get the north shore sampler. Everything on it tastes great. It was 12.99 at lunch price. Wife ordered the walleye sandwhich Which was good, but we both agreed the sampler was better.

This restaurant is awesome. Great cozy atmosphere, great food, great people. Worth every penny. And try the wild rice soup- you won't be disappointed.

'felt a part of the north woods here. Just a great view. Seating could be outside or inside with screens. 'had fish on a plank--a great treat.

Stopped here on a recent North Shore trip. The vibe is bar/lounge with a nice screened in porch and deck facing Lake Superior. The view is very nice. I had the 'Scandinavian' dinner. Swedish meatballs, potatoes, red cabbage and lefse. It was a very respectable offering. My wife had the hamburger and it was not very good. Pretty much what... More

I'm not saying I would not eat here again but it would not be on top of the list. The place needs help. My hamburger was overcooked grill fried and dry, probably a frozen patty from Sam's Club. If you are serving food, why would you do that? You could buy good beef, make your own patties and charge a... More

We went for an evening meal after a long day of hiking and were very pleased. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the lake. The garden was lovely. The place was busy but we were attended to quickly. I had the Maple Plank Walleye and it was very good. Perfectly cooked. My wife had the sampler and fell in... More

We were disappointed in the ambiance of the place. It could also use a sprucing up. We wanted to eat outside but the tables were just picnic tables or just chairs overlooking a great view. The Scandanavian food we tried was another disappointment. The fish was very plain, not much flavor even with lemon, the potatoes were good but the... More

My wife and I decided it was time to try a north shore restaurant we'd never heard of and stopped in. Our first impression was "this place is strange..." The door leading into the restaurant is narrow and slopes down, the interior is dimly lit, no hostess to great and seat us, and overall in need of a good cleaning.... More
