We went for an evening meal after a long day of hiking and were very pleased. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the lake. The garden was lovely. The place was busy but we were attended to quickly. I had the Maple Plank Walleye and it was very good. Perfectly cooked. My wife had the sampler and fell in... More

We were disappointed in the ambiance of the place. It could also use a sprucing up. We wanted to eat outside but the tables were just picnic tables or just chairs overlooking a great view. The Scandanavian food we tried was another disappointment. The fish was very plain, not much flavor even with lemon, the potatoes were good but the... More

My wife and I decided it was time to try a north shore restaurant we'd never heard of and stopped in. Our first impression was "this place is strange..." The door leading into the restaurant is narrow and slopes down, the interior is dimly lit, no hostess to great and seat us, and overall in need of a good cleaning.... More

Enjoyed an early dinner here in May, while staying in the area. Both of us had fish; I had salmon and the other had walleye. Our meals were good, not an excessive amount, but just enough to fill us up. The service was okay, even though there were very few in the cafe, our server was slow to check back... More

The food wasn't bad, but my omelet was tiny and I left still feeling hungry. I would order something else if I went again, which I probably won't.

The back garden deck is spectacular and offers great views. I would come back on a warm day just to sit back there. The food was tasty but service was really slow and I was the only one there. Really nice and friendly she just didn't check in often.

We wanted to dine at Lemon Wolf Cafe but our friends suggested Northern Lights Cafe for the view! So, yes, our friends were right! The view of Lake Superior was nice! But as we sat, the temperature dropped faster than we would have liked and unfortunately, we had to move back inside the restaurant! Thankfully, the menu was pleasing to... More

Came here for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. Buffet included sausage, bacon, eggs, cheesy hashbrowns, regular hashbrowns, fish, biscuits/gravy, french toast and pancakes. The food was SO good. Can't say enough about the food, just great. The reason for only 4/5 stars is this. Water was brought to our table without our asking for it (common right?) yet when we went... More

But what isnt? The view iof the lake here is great in summer. We eat here around once a year when staying the area. nice that they have elk meat and scandanavian dishes. Food is decent but not great. Service is so so. Wine (by glass) was sour but draft beer good. Very chilly room on a cold Feb Nite!... More
