Skip the Walleye

Hi We stopped here and had the all you can eat Walleye dinner. It came with Walleye strips, fires, and Salad bar. This is the first time; I have had Walleye that I honestly didn't like. It had some type of seasoning that just didn't taste that great. When the waitress asked if we wanted more... read more

We pulled in here by default as a lot of the places were closed due to the off season. Kind of a strange place visually however the food was excellent and great service too. We had the beef pot pie and a hamburger and fries. Looks like the place has an awesome view and patio, which would be nice to... More

Had a fantastic Scandanavian meal! Homemade! Will be back this summer for herring here! Nothing fancy. Food quality is more important to me than decor! Red cabbage was the best! Lefse was so-so (nothing to brag about). Meatballs were super!

We drove up to try this place out and am I glad we did. A nice cozy place with a lake superior motiff. The food was SUPER. We had the prime rib and it was perfection itself, along with the Yukon gold potatoes and a wonderful mango craison side dish we left very full. The meal came with the salad... More

My husband and I stopped in here on a weekday visit to the north shore, and we were pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere. My husband had a burger and fries, but I opted for the sampler platter. Very good and unique! Lived being able to check out all the unique items for sale and beautiful scenery!

I believe the name has changed to Northern Lights Roadhouse. On our ski trip to Lutsen, we stopped in here for a quick bite for lunch. The place has a cozy feel to it, with a small gift shop, sit down restaurant and tiny bar area. We chose the bar area because of the cougar behind the bar….um, I mean... More

Of all the restaurants in the Northshore area that I've been to this one would be my favorite. While their regular burgers leave alot to be desired their "hometown" specialties are mouth wateringly wonderful. The best thing on the whole menu is the cheesy wildrice mushrooms. The ooey-gooey heaven in a bowl that begins the meal could be a whole... More

Love, love, love the elk shepherd's pie - fruit pies are pretty good, too! Nice view of The Lake, patio seating if the weather permits.

The Northern Lights Cafe is keeping it oh-so-real on the North Shore. The decor is kitschy cool and funky and the view of the lake is fantastic. The food is Scandinavian, hearty, and yummy. That's right, I said yummy. We had the gravlax, which I wish would have been sliced a little thinner, but it came with the perfect accompaniments.... More

Had a traditional Swedish meatball dinner and it was spot on perfect! Can't beat the views of the ever changing mood of Lake Superior either. Always stop here when we vacation on the shore.
