Great Mexican food in Ypsilanti - Worth the trip

This is one of the few excellent and authentic Mexican restaurants in our area. I have never had a bad meal here and I have eaten here many times over the years. The space is intimate and has the atmosphere of a small family restaurant. The home made tamales, guacamole, and chicken in mole are... read more

My wife and I stopped in because we were on a college orientation visit. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was pleasant and the ladies that took care of us were very friendly. My wife and I eat out frequently and we love finding small places like this. Since our daughter will be going to EMU for the next 4... More

Gudalajara is beautifully represented by this well-respected Mexican restaurant. Everything is made from scratch and with great care with the freshest of ingredients. You will not find tamales this good anywhere else in the area. The masa is light and practically melts in your mouth. The fillings are generous and tasty. Their jamaica is made with Mexican hibiscus, not Chinese... More

This is an unpretentious place with an extensive menu. Good service and beer selection. The food is excellent. I particularly like the Mushroom Quasedillas. Reasonably priced.

Trip Advisor brought us here. We had a large group. Not much curb appeal, but don't let that stop you. It's homey inside. But beware: they only allow split checks to be paid in cash. Also, no liquor license, so you can't have a margarita or beer with your meal. That said, this is true Mexican cuisine. No hard shell... More

An extensive Mexican menu, good food, service, and atmosphere. A nice addition to Depot Town. Really fun to sit outside during Depot Town's summer Thursday Cruise Nights.

We decided to try this local restaurant while staying in Ypsilanti this past July. This is definitely a great family run eatery...and we enjoyed both our delicious meals and time to unwind and relax...we highly recommend this restaurant. it is most definitely not a chain restaurant and therefore the dishes are unique and flavorful. We always enjoy eating at family... More

I've not been to La Fiesta Mexicana for a few years, but a group of us went last evening. I'd forgotten how good is the food, and how much I enjoyed eating there. It's a small, informal, family-owned and run place -- if you are looking for a "chain-type experience", this isn't it. We had guacamole, salsa (very spicy!) and... More

Owned by Mexican couple. He does the cooking with one assistant. Every dish from scratch, with homemade tortillas. Dishes from many parts of Mexico. Quezo Fundido appetizer of melted Chihuahua cheese, chorizo or not, small fresh warm tortillas, with salsa melts in my mouth! Every dish is delicious, beautiful. All served with rice and the best refried beans I've ever... More

La Fiesta is the best! Authentic Mexican food excellently preparedly and served by the owners. You will love finding this small gem of a restaurant and telling others about it. BYO beer or wine or enjoy a soda from Mexico with your meal.
