Upscale in a small town

The food was very good. I had butternut lasagna and hubby had pork with green beans and potatoes prepared by a chef who could be preparing the food for an "upper crust" clientele Glad he's working in small town America . It was a slow night at the restaurant and felt the prices were a little... read more

I recently returned here for dinner after a 2-year absence. My hope was that it had improved since my last visit. Unfortunately, it had not. We started with cocktails, which were fine, but I felt were overpriced for what we received (small). Charge me whatever you want for food or drink, but give me some value! I ordered the filet... Just been here one time, but overall impressions were good. We opted (as did everyone else that day) to sit on the patio. Hands down the best view and most peaceful of any patio I've been to in Mid Michigan. The server was super attentive, polished, and fit the establishment's feel. We only had drinks that day, but watched others... More

This place has a lot if potential. It's a lovely setting, the food is good, the outdoor chairs were very uncomfortable and in a warm day the inside was way too warm. Make it comfortable and it will be great.

We went a couple of years not dining here after a mediocre meal a few years ago. This is one of the best places in the Lansing area for outdoor dining, no ugly parking lot or street views. (I do wish they would do a bit more with the indoor décor since this is an historic home) The staff was... More

Food is great a little pricey , but having a beer on the back patio and enjoying the scenery is so worth it !!! I love their Arugula salad with the highest quality cut of beef on it , Yummy .

But, overpriced. I take many business lunches here. Atmosphere is good for a business discussion. But, I don't like walking away with a $40 (two person, no alcohol) lunch bill.

Set in a converted house this place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In the summer the patio overlooking the river adds a most relaxing environment. The food is always excellent and the staff warm and welcoming. A real treasure.

For our latest visit, we took our Son and Daughter-in-Law to the Riverhouse as a "thank you". This is a cozy old house, sitting alongside the Red Cedar River. Tables are set up in several of the rooms. Our favorite winter time table is in the back, on an elevated area near the bar. The windows provide a nice view... More

We went there today for lunch with friends. You should know that this restaurant DOES NOT have any air conditioning and it was 87 today. It was too hot inside so we went outside and tried to sit away from the sun. The bartender said because it's a really old house they don't have air. That makes no sense. You... More
