This place has a lot if potential. It's a lovely setting, the food is good, the outdoor chairs were very uncomfortable and in a warm day the inside was way too warm. Make it comfortable and it will be great.

We went a couple of years not dining here after a mediocre meal a few years ago. This is one of the best places in the Lansing area for outdoor dining, no ugly parking lot or street views. (I do wish they would do a bit more with the indoor décor since this is an historic home) The staff was... More

Food is great a little pricey , but having a beer on the back patio and enjoying the scenery is so worth it !!! I love their Arugula salad with the highest quality cut of beef on it , Yummy .

But, overpriced. I take many business lunches here. Atmosphere is good for a business discussion. But, I don't like walking away with a $40 (two person, no alcohol) lunch bill.

Set in a converted house this place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In the summer the patio overlooking the river adds a most relaxing environment. The food is always excellent and the staff warm and welcoming. A real treasure.

For our latest visit, we took our Son and Daughter-in-Law to the Riverhouse as a "thank you". This is a cozy old house, sitting alongside the Red Cedar River. Tables are set up in several of the rooms. Our favorite winter time table is in the back, on an elevated area near the bar. The windows provide a nice view... More

We went there today for lunch with friends. You should know that this restaurant DOES NOT have any air conditioning and it was 87 today. It was too hot inside so we went outside and tried to sit away from the sun. The bartender said because it's a really old house they don't have air. That makes no sense. You... More

Went here for brunch on Sunday. It was a little empty, but cold outside so patio was closed. The menu was a classic brunch menu. The sign outside advertised Bloody Mary specials, but couldn't find anything on the menu. Our waiter was nice, but the service was incredibly slow. And there were only 3 tables occupied in the entire restaurant.... More

We loved dining al fresco by a stream in this peaceful, landscaped, moonlit setting, with an abundance of twinkling lightening bugs! Attention to detail extends to the preparation of farm-fresh, well-presented and enthusiastically served food.

Very nice being able to sit out on the patio to enjoy lunch. Food was good (we shared the bear club sandwich and the cranberry walnut salad), fries served w/ the sandwich were delicious, my only complaint was the borderline rude waiter. He appeared to be handling all the tables solo, but I did not care for his attitude. Would... More
