Having grown up in NY, i have been spoiled with delis that were sensational... Having spent the last 30 years in the south, i havent seen a decent deli since... that is till my last trip to Detroit area some two years ago... Looked forward to trying it again and sure enough, the Stage Deli was everything i had remembered... More

Imagine my surprise when I suffered through the close of the Stage in New York, my long time favorite for the world's best pastrami and the ridiculously big sandwiches that it's cousin and name sake still lives in Michigan. Recently redone and quite modern on Orchard Lake Road it offers the same ji cholesterol fare and same sides but also... More

We were driving through the area looking for a restaurant and saw all the cars in the parking lot and thought that must mean it was a good restaurant. Good, however, is an understatement! We've never seen a menu with more selections, including typical deli food and anything else imaginable. Every order we saw looked scrumptious with huge portions. We... More

For decades this has been our favourite restaurant in Detroit. Every visit in the past has been GREAT. This night for some reason, things weren't going so well. I had to order an appetizer four different times because the first three the kitchen told our server they were out of. No, meat knishes, no potato knishes and no kishka and... More

We've been here before years ago and loved it. We decided to go back and either I have no memory or the prices went way up. My husbands corned beef was quite fatty and the fries had literally no taste. Plus, when you're paying over $13 for a sandwich would it hurt you to throw in the fries or some... More

Simply the best Jewish deli in the world, and that's from a guy who lives in NYC! Pastrami to die for, everything fresh and hot. Nice people, too.

The meals were reasonably priced. I had the challah french toast, which was plain but excellent. My mother remembered liking their whitefish salad. It was not on the menu but they made it up for her and she was thrilled. Thank you.

After 9 months in Ecuador, we had a hankering for corned beef. The sandwich at the Stage was pricy ($13) but very good. One of our party had the pot roast. The portion was large and it was moist and delicious. This is true comfort food delivered in a cozy atmosphere. The service was prompt and the staff was attentive.... More

Ate here twice on this particular trip and it was good as usual. Corned beef, pastrami, omelets, lox all very good. Bagels could be better. Gefilte fish was a bit disappointing with no flavor. Service was on the slow side, but they were good about accommodating our large group. It's always a good stand by when visiting the area.

We visited Stage Deli in W Bloomfield in May 2014 and ordered 3 corned beef sandwiches and a scoop of tuna. I was shocked that my order was $59. The corned beef was a crumbled mess and it took quite a while to receive our carry out order. The scoop of tuna was much better than the corned beef.
