I have dined at The Lark on many occasions, usually with my husband. This is a dining experience suited for a romantic dinner or special occasion. It is rather pricey but the food is worth it. The seafood is fresh and the appetizers are excellent. We took our daughters here for a special birthday dinner and they were very impressed... More

If you have not dined at The Lark, you are missing an epicurean delight! The service is wonderful and the food is superb. The night we dined in honor of my birthday, Mr Lark was present, dressed in tux,and took us on a tour explaining how he and his wife created the villa type restaurant from the tile used throughout... They raved about the lamb chops, but mine were undercooked. The shrimps on the appetizer plate were overcooked. The Moscato wine wasn't as good as I've had at other restaurants. The atmosphere is good, the service was fair. The place is overrated and over priced. Oh, as a Birthday gift, from the restaurant I was given a 1/4 of a... More

A true gourmet experience. This is a wonderful memory in every way a restaurant should be. The food, service and ambience could not be better.

If you are looking for the ambiance and menu from the 70's this is the place for you. Mr. Lark has the humility of Thurston Howell, III. Having been a customer more than several times, I can attest that the food is mostly prepared right. I can also attest that if you like a rare veal chop, you probably should... More

The Lark is one of my favorite, most elegant, charming restaurants. I had the Lobster Thermidor on a recent visit. Have not seen this on menus for years. It was unbelievably gorgeous and scrumptious, yet not a dated stodgy dish that one might think. Everything about The Lark is exquisite. You drive in through a nondescript driveway among commercial buildings,... More

I really hate going to restaurants, but not the Lark! When you are in your 6th decade of living and eating, your expectations and standards are high for what a dining experience should be, and the Lark NEVER disappoints. Most restaurants are places you go to eat. At the Lark you go to dine, quite a different and refreshing experience,... More

My favorite fine dining experience in Southeast Michigan. The two times I dined here, with family, what was notable were: Mr Lark serving as maitre d, greeting and seating each customer, the rack of lamb 'Ghengis Khan' very good, the ambiance, the clientele. If Michelin gave out stars for Detroit establishments (and their scope is 'what's on the plate') then... More

I have travelled the world and eaten in some of the best and finest restaurants in France, Germany, Spain, Thailand, China, Japan and many many other countries. It is amazing that one of the best I have ever had sits just blocks away from my front door. Anyone visiting Detroit or Michigan and looking for a world class didning experience,... More
