Not what it used to be

I've been going to The Lark for over 20 years. It's expensive, so we only go every couple years. This last couple visits were disappointing and I don't think we will be back. The food was good, but not good enough to justify the price. I have some food restrictions and cannot eat anything from the... read more

The Lark is an incredible restaurant. I don't know how they manage to be so exquisite and yet so unpretentious. It's been our "go to" occasion restaurant for over 20 years. Service, food, ambiance; they have it all. We are not "rich people" yet the servers, managers, bar staff etc. are always so gracious and welcoming. Highly recommend.

The lark is an experience. You can tour the herb garden and enjoy excellent food and service. It is pricey but you won't leave hungry.

This was an unforgettable evening in a charming warm setting. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the wine list is extensive and impressive! We do our homework when we travel and the Lark has an impressive list of awards that are well deserved! We will defiantly come back and highly recommend it. This is... More

The Lark prides itself on excellent preparation of classic dishes. This is exactly what you get. The dining room looked beautiful. The service was attentive if not perfect. The pride and joy that Jim Lark takes in his dining room is evident if you take a moment to shake his 84 year old hand. If you take longer than a... More

This restaurant is evidently known for standard 5-course offerings, but the menus (both on-line and in-person) do state that a la carte service is available. Our party was resolved not to overindulge that night, so we expected to order a couple of courses and call it a night. The waiter, however, never even asked our intentions, never took our order... Had dinner here with friends on New Year' eve at 6pm. Food was so-so; oysters served with red sauce on top, soup was lukewarm and the stone crap was overdone. At exactly 9 pm Jim Lark, in our presence, told the waitress not to serve us coffee because "we needed to leave so other people could have our table". We... More

I have enjoyed the Lark over the past 25 years. The atmosphere is so euro-quaint and romantic. On my last visit for our 16th Anniversary Dinner we chose once again The Lark. We had a beautiful table overlooking the courtyard with tiny lights sparkling in the herb garden. The service was sub-par and the food was extremely disappointing. Such an... More

I don't feel this restaurant is overly costly...for a 5 course meal presented in the way it is and the quality of the food and service warrant the price. this is a small, intimite type restaurant that you might encounter in Europe. quiet, reserved and with a broad menu that is sure to please but all the most persnickity of... We go to the Lark once or twice a year. Have been doing this for about 20 years. Yes, it is expensive, but reserved for that special occasion. Food is always spectacular, the service is beyond and the attention to detail has been perfected. The menu does change but they have many choices to please all! We always leave full... More
