Still great carvery but a few issues

Visited with my 7 year old daughter as we still think this is the best carvery around. No issues with the carvery only one question, has the lamb on a Tuesday & Thursday stopped? The issues we had were staff shortages, our waiter whose name I think was Cameron was pretty much on his own and he does... read more

The saying, "you get what you pay for" comes to mind, went for a Carvery on a Saturday at the cheap price of £6. The meat was nice enough, but the Yorkshire was inedible and the rest of the veg was barely food at all. If you want cheap and cheerful then this place is a step up from Wetherspoons,... More

Had a evening carvery here with a child really lovely. Very good value for money and it tasted good too. It was very busy and had to queue for a while but worth waiting for.

I am a bit of a carvery fanatic and have wrote many reviews of different places. After reading the previous reviews and weighing this pub with other local ones, my findings are this...The pub itself is a bit olde worlde, it has a good atmosphere. The carvery in many ways is a bit mediocre, in that a lot of the... More

Very friendly staff. Carvery is affordable but massive value for money. Food is very good. Only a couple of service faults but nothing significant so for the non-perfectionist it is amazing! Would recommend.

This is a large pub with plenty of room to sit and eat, the staff were all very friendly and happy to have a laugh with us. the bar gives a lovey atmosphere and it well stocked, the food is great and the the carvery is even better. The food is well priced and the beer and wine aren't to... More

Visited here on Sunday 2nd whilst holidaying in Devon. On arrival, pleased to see that there was ample car parking, and the restaurant itself looked welcoming. We were greeted by a young lady who showed us to our table. This was in a good position, but the room was very dark and hot which made us feel a little uncomfortable.... More

We were a large family that went in to the nut well lodge after a trip to exmouth. Cappuccino's were lovely and having a big family table in the bar area was very useful when 10 of us wanted seating together! Staff were friendly and seemed clean. Happy warm feel enjoyed our visit.

Having been out with our grandchildren for the afternoon, we thought a Carvery would be a nice way to end the day. We were shown to our table and our drinks order taken, we had made it very clear non should have ice, my husband had ice in his. Our Grandchildren were given the 'kids menu' with quizzes, puzzles on... More

Staff were friendly, but unfortunately doens't make up for the food. Ordered 2 carveries, a kids meal and an ultimate burger stack. Was told will would be informed when the burger and kids meal would be ready so we could get our carveries. Went up when informed, the chef came out and asked the person doing the carvery if we...
