Disappointing Christmas day

On arrival we were asked if we would like our complimentary glass of prosecco and then left to wait for several minutes at the main desk whilst they fetched it. Eventually a waitress said she would show us to our seats and bring it over. When it arrived it wasn't so much a glass of prosecco, but a... read more

Visited this restaurant on Saturday. Whilst waiting we saw somebody come out and probe the food. We wondered why they were doing this when it should be hot in the first place. Later found out she who did it was the manager of the place! When we got our food the veg was cold. Asked to speak to the manager... More

2pm on Saturday, very quiet staff polite. The carvery food looked reasonable but was tepid and without much taste. I complained and the food was microwaved to heat it, as it looked awful and overdone I refused it and was given a new meal which was hotter but still fairly tasteless. The portions of meat were smaller than other carveries... More

Visited 10th Jan for my mums birthday...left rather disappointed! It seems that as they are being taken over by Toby carvery they've given up with everything until then! Half the menu is no longer available including all the grill section. Burgers are being served with kids buns rather than ordering and giving normal ones. For a Sunday lunch it was... More

Visited this place whilst we were on holiday in Devon visiting family. I have read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor and was a bit sceptical but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Thank goodness I did! The food was delicious and one of the chefs (who told us when we asked that his name is Steve)... More

We decided to pop in for a quick meal on our way back home (had 100 miles to go). We've been to the Nutwell many times before and had always had good food and excellent service but based on this visit, we won't be going back. When we arrived we were told they only had beef and gammon which was... More

This WAS one of the best places for a carvery. The service was extremely poor from the start, with no knowledge of our booking, drinks turned up when we nearly finished our meal, reduced choice of veg and quantity of meat. We will not be recommending or returning.
