Thumbs up food

We decided to stop here for lunch on a Friday late morning. The place really looks deceiving. I was a little worked but my husband picked the place. Our hostess was also our waitress. She wasn't the friendliest person but she took our order(the other waitress was very informative about specials and... read more

We decided to stop here for breakfast and were greatly disappointed. We ordered coffee and were given mini cups (half of a mug) and naturally, had to wave down the waitress to get a refill. I mentioned the cups were rather small and the young waitress (who had an attitude) proceeded to complain that people leave coffee in their cups... More

Huge breakfast portions. Great smoothies, and delicious treats at from the bakery. A perfect stop for breakfast before you head to the beach - and you can pick up some lunch to take with you!

The Blue Plate Cafe is an inconspicuous, plain, small, practically shack-like building situated on the Red Arrow Highway in Union Pier, Michigan. Open the door and step inside and you're immediately along side the kitchen. A few more steps forward and you're in the colorfully painted dining room. I've eaten here on numerous occasions and have never experienced some of... More

We ate breakfast here and this place was MUY busy. The food was great and there is a large variety to choose from, however the service was a bit grumpy. I would eat here again as there isn't much in the area to choose from and the food made it worth it over all.

Been here a few times and the experience has been about the same each time.... They're understaffed leaving the servers harried and unpleasant. When the food finally does arrive it's decent nothing special but there's not much of it. The prices are high in my opinion for what you get and the service. Will be looking for a new place

A simple roadside cafe on the Red Arrow Highway. Home made breads and jams with eggs and fresh cut potatoes or hash with fresh squeezed juices. Yum.

On a day trip to Harbor Country, we stopped at this inviting cafe for coffee and breakfast and were rewarded with fresh pressed hot Michigan apple cider and terrific tomatoes (oven roasted with Italian seasonings) as an accompaniment to eggs and bacon. Fresh squeezed orange juice rounded out a lovely start to our day. I couldn't resist a take out... More

On a stranger's recommendation, I brought my grand daughter for Sunday brunch before driving back home.. We were both delighted with our food. The blueberry mousecake was gobbled up with relish and I too enjoyed the frittata special. The coffee was good and the wait staff attentive, but a little slow.

We were looking for somewhere for breakfast before we all split up and went our separate ways - three groups to Midway Airport in Chicago and two of us to Florida by road. We arrived early on Sunday morning, were welcomed and served immediately. The food was excellent, with a wonderful selection of breakfast entrees, and the wait staff were... More
