A Big Surprise

We recently went there to celebrate my son's birthday with family and friends. The wait was a little long, and we did have a reservation, but the experience was very good. The restaurant is nice from the outside, and has a nice lobby. It shares the building it's in with other tenants, but it's very upscale. The seating is ample,... More

A large group of us went for a birthday dinner celebration. We had reservations and did not have to wait to long for a table. The food is average and very expensive. The show was a NO Show. Boring as all get out. No fun! Will not return.

A group of us ate at Benihaha. The restaurant had a fair number of people and we had to wait a few minutes before getting seated. Overall the atmosphere of the restaurant was tired. Our hibachi chef made a valiant effort to entertain but in the end, the food was pretty ordinary, and I have to say that I was... More

It was my first time there, though I have been to other hibachi grills. Recommend the hibachi rice in addition to your meal. My husband had the tuna and said use the sauce they give you to go with it. I had the chicken and shrimp-very tender chicken. The place was quite busy. Service from waiter a little slow, but... It's pretty much your typical Benihana. Was there with some work colleagues. Instead of the Hibachi dinner we opted for the sushi bar. Nothing to write home about. Sushi chef was not oriental and struggled making the different rolls and pieces of sushi we asked for. When we go it, it was fine. Nothing special Prices were about average for... More

Have been going to the Benihana in Troy for years (when it was the Kyoto). The same high quality of food and service has been in place for years. Newer chefs bring new ideas to the table. Special orders are not a problem as the food is prepared fresh in front of you. We enjoy the Troy location over the... More

Our waiter was great for refilling the water glasses. Not so good w/taking the orders.Table of, 6 adults and 2 kids. My sister ordered an appetizer of tempura, the waiter forgot to put that order in. As 20mins went by she asked him about it, he admitted to forgetting. He asked if she'd like him to put it in now,... More

Service was OK, although the chef did not show up until 45 minutes after we were seated. Soup was bland. Salad dressing was bland. We ordered the Samurai Treat which was supposed to be shrimp and filet mignon. We're pretty certain that we did not get a filet, but rather a strip steak or a hibachi steak, but it wasn't... More

This place is always busy and has been around for a long time. Food is ok and prepared in an entertaining environment. Sushi is good and hot food prepared right there for you is ok but all taste the same. Ok to visit with friends for fun and laughs around the griddle table.
