Wonderful market fresh food. Excellently prepared. Wonderful staff . The restaurant itself is in a really interesting location; it's in a converted psychiatric hospital with lots of adjoins adjoins shops. Very cool area!

This restaurant is for foodies. It is your chance to try foods you will not see in most places and everything we ate was delicious. I went for the pig brain appetizer just because I've never seen it on a menu before. The service is first class and we were amazed by how fast they walk.

Got there late on a Tuesday night. I'm surprised we found it because our ford sync was having trouble figuring out where we were. I was very surprised when I walked in the door. It is a modern take on a classic trattoria in a former mental hospital. It's very cool and the menu looked great. They have an interesting... More

During our roadtrip through Northern Michigan, we used Traverse City as a base camp to explore Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau wineries, and dine at wonderful farm to table restaurants. Trattoria Stella came recommended by friends and TA so I felt comfortable we were going to be in for a treat. What I did not realize was that we were going... More

Stella didn't disappoint but still think a few changes could make for a more exquisite meal. Bread served before dinner was unremarkable ie was expecting crusty and rustic. We all had the duck which was delightful but a few things to enhance the meal would include a crispy potato with skin intact finished in duck fat to make it crispy... More

The dinners at Stella's are always great - fresh herbs, interesting combinations, so even for a person that loves to cook, there are always interesting and new ideas and wonderful tastes. The ambiance at the restaurant is comfortably private : not isolated but your own talking space to have an intimate dinner. Always a wonderful dinner or lunch experience. I... More

Wow was it shocking to have dinner at Trattoria Stella's this last weekend and find the food ordinary instead of a step above. I choose shrimp fettuccine while my husband had a gnocchi dish that actually had burned gnocchi boring. We were very surprised and taken aback. Usually we order the more expensive dishes and we are wondering if the... More

I loved the staff, the food, desserts, but in the beguining was too noisy , walls and floor makes reverberation ,... More
