I'm married to a chef, so we are a family who is a bit hard to impress with food but wow! We were amazed!! The location is a bit tricky to find, but it adds to the charm. It's a beautiful building and the inside is contemporary and inviting. We loved the concept of the menu changing daily and food... More

We were so pleased with our experience at Trattoria Stella! Our appetizer and meals were delicious and the service was excellent. Our waiter educated us on menu selection and helped us pick wines to complement each of our tastes from the large wine list. He went above and beyond just good service to make sure that we left having had... More

the chef likes to salt everything! We had appetizers that were over salted along with entrees way too salty overpowering all other flavors! If you like flavors other than salt dine somewhere else. We've dined several times and always everything ordered is over salted. The chef needs to start reading reviews,,, beginning with this one! More

Ambience is fun - in the "basement" of the main building of the Commons in traverse city - an old insane asylum complex which is being renovated. have a drink and look over the dinner menu - the food is very good and this is thought to be one of the premier restaurants in the area. you can wander around... We've eaten here on each of our visits to Traverse City and it is consistently an excellent experience. I would call ahead for reservations as it can be busy but we had no trouble getting a table without them on a Friday either. The service was very good and the food was not only wonderful but included many local ingredients.... More

We had a family dinner at this restaurant. Even though we had a table in the bar area, we had an excellent dining experience. Live music was quite entertaining and really added to the atmosphere. The food was superb. I had the chef's special which was a pasta with venison meat balls and added a beet salad. They were both... More

My husband and I went for a splurge dinner while on a trip back home to Michigan, and all of the hype did not disappoint. We had by far one of the best meals we've ever had. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. He was very helpful when we were trying to make our selection,... More
