Description: The original Grand Traverse Pie Company location! Our first Pie Shop...
The original Grand Traverse Pie Company location! Our first Pie Shop opened in July of 1996 by company founders, Mike and Denise Busley. The shop is conveniently located on West Front Street in Traverse City, Michigan, just a short walk from downtown and a block from West Grand Traverse Bay. Our open-air design has the kitchen in full view of our customers. There's comfortable seating for those who would like to sit and relax with a slice of pie and a cup of gourmet coffee. We also have great lunch selections, with quiches, soups, pot pie by the slice, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. We serve espresso, smoothies, and a variety of homemade baked goods.

Best Pie You Will Ever Eat!

I'm not even that big of a pie fan, but after hearing all the hype, I just had to try it out. Get yourself a piece of pie and a cup of coffee and enjoy. Yes, the pie is a tad pricey, but it is so worth it. And they just started serving gluten free pies!

I had an Egg Salad Sandwich this time around. It was the most average tasting sandwich. The bread was cold - I would have preferred room temperature or better yet toasted. The cold bread was very dry and hard to chew. The others in my party enjoyed their food (especially the pot pie) which is why I'm giving this an... More

We have eaten at a couple of their locations and love their pies and desserts. Excellent selection - Pie slices are $3.29. Loved the Apple, caramel, nut. Also had the peanut butter cup cookie/muffin - mmm.

Walk up to the counter, nice help, and TRY to make a decision. About 20 different fruit pies on display, more cream pies in the cooler and I have never had a bad one! Seriously, great pies, get a slice ala mode with a cup of (great) coffee...Repeat.

We got there right before closing and the service was still welcoming. We had quiche, chicken pot pie and side salads -- all excellent. Of course, we had to have pie also - cherry crumb and apple crumb which were both very good. All the food was of very high quality and very tasty.

There are many flavors and varieties of sweets! Was hard to choose! It was a nice place and glad we stopped in. The girl working the counter was very helpful and had a genuine smile.

The pie here was wonderful--about 6 kinds of pies incorporating the local tart cherries. Man cannot live by pie alone, and we also enjoyed the soups and the salads. We ate here twice in our two day stay in Traverse City. We also brought pie along for our next stop!

You won't go wrong eating here! The cherry crumble pie is outstanding and so are the soups and sandwiches'. We ate at the Petoskey property and would return ion a flash if we lived closer. Friendly motivated staff, thanks!

Their motto says it all: come for the pie; stay for the food. The Mission Cherry and the Strawberry Rhubarb pie slices were perfect. And what a great finish to excellent soup and sandwiches. Everything is fresh and served by staff who really seem to be glad you came in.
