Description: The original Grand Traverse Pie Company location! Our first Pie Shop...
The original Grand Traverse Pie Company location! Our first Pie Shop opened in July of 1996 by company founders, Mike and Denise Busley. The shop is conveniently located on West Front Street in Traverse City, Michigan, just a short walk from downtown and a block from West Grand Traverse Bay. Our open-air design has the kitchen in full view of our customers. There's comfortable seating for those who would like to sit and relax with a slice of pie and a cup of gourmet coffee. We also have great lunch selections, with quiches, soups, pot pie by the slice, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. We serve espresso, smoothies, and a variety of homemade baked goods.

Exactly as I'd hoped

Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken pot pie, steak pie, cherry pie and raspberry pie (shared a bunch of menu items with the family). Aside from the chicken pie being way too salty, everything was great. This will be irrelevant to many, but to those with egg allergies, they don't put any in/on their crust, which to us is huge.

We come to TC for the micro brew and music festival each year, and each year we treat ourselves to a cherry pie. I couldn't tell you anything about the rest of the menu, but I can say without question that they make a FINE, and I mean F-I-N-E cherry pie. Perfect crust, sweet and tart filling, great regional cherries.... More

Average atmosphere, but above average food. Chicken cherry salad was delicious and absolutely huge. Cherry pie was yummy.

The restaurant does unfortunately look a lot like a Panera. Just close your eyes and think of grandma. Or better yet, take it to go and eat it on the beach while watching the sunset. They use flour from Michigan and their cherries, spy apples and blueberries are from Michigan, too.

We have been frequenting GT Pie Company regularly on our visits from Columbus, Ohio. The soups, salads and sandwiches are superb. All pies are simply the best you'll find anywhere in the U.S. We are so taken by ABC & Mountain Berry that we chose to serve pie varieties from GT and cake for our 2013 destination wedding in TC.... We sat in and had quiche Lorraine and a sandwich for lunch, all of which was very nice. However, the real treat was the pie we took home for later!! We had slices of the blueberry crumble and cherry crumble- they were heavenly! As pie lovers from the UK, these went down a storm! The restaurant staff were very nice... More

We got two types of cherry pies while we were there and had no trouble eating them up. We did not eat there but it looked like they had a very busy lunch crowd. They have a variety of coffees too.

So, so good!! 6 of us went for dinner and just beat the evening rush. Their combo specials (quiche, salad and pie; or sandwich and pie; etc.) are great deals. The pie is sooo good!!

My fiance and I decided to stop here last minute on our way out of Traverse City. That was a GREAT decision! We stopped in between breakfast and lunch, it wasn't too busy, and the food was prepared in a timely manner. We had a sandwich, a beef pastie, and a piece of pie. All of it was delicious! :)... We stopped for lunch. I had the cherry chicken salad on a croissant. The chicken salad was fresh and it was cleverly served in a pie pan. Their real forte is their pies. We tried a piece of their delightful cherry crumb pie and ended up buying a whole one to take home.
